Keg at the Nags Head - London. Pours clear yellow-gold, highly effervescent, with a thick, frothy white cap. Nice citrus notes in the nose, pale bread, cereal, hay. Light sweet flavour with crispy citrus, mellow tangerine, orange, biscuits. Light bodied with average carbonation. Pretty clean to finish, with further biscuits, lemon peel, cereal, pale grain, straw. Really nice, drinkable lager.

Tapped out gold. 6ºSRM.
Nose is beery.
Mouthfeel is watery. Palate is pale malt with white bread and a shelled raw peanuts and edamame.
Hops are mild and brief and come in near the end with some mild herbaceous flavor. No bitter.

330ml can from Tesco. The craft beer movement have really latched onto cans as being the trendy thing to drink beer from. Small cans in particular (perhaps because the consumer associates small servings with quality). This is a watery weak lager of no distinction, with some citric lemon hops to give it a modern feel. Not my thing. The malt is crap, and the hops don’t compensate. It’s drinkable, but its not great.

Appearance - golden with a decent head.
Nose - overripe fruit, melon or papaya. Grassy maybe.
Taste - luscious tropical fruit again. Thinking melon and orange.
Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish.
Overall - this is good.

In a can! Pours very pale yellow, clear. Not a lot of head. Pretty strong, jammy, pineapple hops aroma. Has a very quick, soda-water-like finish. It’s not bad, but I wish there was a bit more to it.

Bottle from Booths, Media City. Clear golden with a small head. Hoppy and fruity, and quite crisp drinking too, it’s not very ’lager’ at all, and certainly has a recognisably ’ale’ texture. There’s a smoothness about the beer too. What lager malts it has are to be found in its nose, and there’s a rawness about them.
