Amber with a big head that reduced rather quickly. Fruity and yeasty aromas with some toffee. Sweet caramel initially, still quite bitter, even harshly so, ending rather dry. Grapefruit and yeasty flavours. Medium body, well carbonated.

Bottle at DØE. Clear yellow colour with a white head. Aroma and flavour of fruit, hops and with floral notes.

DØE. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and moderate hoppy - grass. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 100512

Sept 2006: First time I have had the bottled version. Different animal to the cask beer I drink when in Southwold.
This blonde beer should be cooled before serving, which is unusual for a British beer. The New World hops Chinook and Columbus give the beer its name.
Light and refreshing, it is, but the bottle says citrus and grapefruit aromas, not sure I got those, but overall, a fine beer for a hot sunny day.

Bottle. Aroma of hay and hops. Golden yoellow colour with small white head. Nice dry and bitter flavour with grapefruit and grassy notes.

Little head, golden. Light fruity with a little spice. Medium body and length. Taste is refresching and light with a little fruit.

500ml bottle – drunk chilled as instructed on bottle – strong flora and fruit, quite highly carbonated – chilling does knock back the aroma a bit. Sweet taste and drinkable if not entirely memorable. Nice enough.

Perhaps I’m being overly generous, but I rather like it. It’s by no means a world-beater, but as a session beer it’s certainly pleasant enough. It’s the beer I go to for a drink while I ponder what to have that’s interesting.

light body, white foam, fizzy, clear, golden standard blonde beer. Not a standout beer but easy to drink and not at all unpleasant

Bottle from Tesco. Pours golden with a thin head. Sour citrus, bit too fizzy. Quite Belgian in style in my opinion. OK.

bottle, only 5% alc now. fruithoppy aroma, golden, clear, white foam, medium bitterness, medium sweetness, after first swallow taste like a good lager afterwards like good alemedium body, slick feel, bitter, long finish, nice beer
