Slightly darker than I expected from the "blond beer" description. No head at all; medium carbonation, exactly right for the style. Strong citrus (grapefruit and lemon) balanced with a refreshing bitterness. Still the Adnams malty flavour here though - tastes like a Broadside mixed with Hooegarden! A top notch beer when you’re thirsty, this also goes very well with spicy food. This is one of my favourite English ales, and I often go back to it. johndoughty (2156), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England

Clear deep golden with a good sized white head. Aroma is very nice, with notes of citrus and tropical fruit. Soft mouthfeel. Flavour is fresh and zesty, with citric hops sitting on a solid malt backbone. Nice and summery, very enjoyable. rauchbier (2997), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 17, 2005 Bottle, courtesy of John White. Copper gold, thin shortlived white head and gentle condition. Initial toffee maltiness and buterscotch, some earthy hoppiness and developing fruitiness that has hints of peach and honey. Full bodied in the mouth, quite chewy with plenty of sweet toffee malt and fruit. Solid hop notes contribute more fruitiness and a developing bitterness that also has some slightly burnt malt characteristics. Finish is quite long with hints of toffee and fruity hops.

Brewed with American Chinook and Columbus hops. Golden colour, large foamy head. Pleasant hoppy aroma and flavour, both with notes of citrus and dry white wine. Bitter finish. Okay beer, but I’d like the malts to come through too. Once again what is it with these Scandinavians? Sulphury?? Nutmeg? Watery?? No bitterness?? I dont know but our beers are far superior to yours tupalev (2612), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Decent aroma - sweet, citrus. Taste is sweet as well, but light enough to be refreshing. More hops than I was expecting. Good stuff.
