Adnams Explorer captures the spirit of discovery by blending Chinook and Columbus hops with the New World. The citrus attack will burst on your palate. Fantastic served chilled and the fruity hoppiness of the beer means that it goes well with cleanly flavoured foods. Try it with salmon, vegetarian options and with summer salads. (Contains barley). Silver medal winner at the 2015 Great British Beer Festival. Now limited release in keg to J D Wetherspoon outlets.

Cask @ The Fox on the Hill. Light gold with a medium white head. The aroma’s bright summery fruits. Loads of apricot, sweet peach. Hints of tropical pacific fruits. Some pineapple and grapefruit. A bit of pissy citrus in the aroma. The taste is angel foodcake, some sugar cookie. Light citrus fruits. More grapefruit, lemon peel. Soft new world hop accents. Lightly bitter finish. Light body, soft carbonation. Overall, a nice effort. Everything’s a bit too reined-in to be a truly great experience. Pretty solid.

Cask at Churchkey. Pours clear light golden. Weak foam. Nose is low hoppy notes, diacetyl, butter biscuit, but too much public toilet. Taste is mild diacetyl, fairly bitter, dry and fairly grassy hoppy. Dusty, dry palate.

Cask at the Castle Inn, Cambridge. Clear amber pour with a broken white head. The aroma is fruity and spicy. The flavour is very bitter, spicy and with citrus grapefruit notes. This is a truly exceptional ale from Adnams who should be congratulated for brewing out of the box. It's uber refreshing and my kind of session ale.
