jerc (3056), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 16, 2008 2008-07-12. Golden yellow body with a small white head. Very mild aroma, light fruit, muted a bit, pleasant. (6+) Similarly mild flavour, light bitterness throughout has a quick sharp note near the finish. (6+) Average palate. Quaffable but average. Bottle at Volo, Toronto DougShoemaker (2553), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 22, 2008 Light malt aroma, some fruity hops also, amber, small white head. Taste is a decent malt, bready, buttery too. Crisp, clean, a snappy little drinker. Good. dnas2 (522), Yelverton, Devon., Devon, England May 26, 2008 (Bottled) Amber and slightly cloudy on initial pouring, with a short head. Grassy sulphuric scent. Very carbonated. Lime-citrus and biscuit malts, with a slightly sulphuric edge. Reasonable bitterness, and moderately dry. I certainly prefer the cask version to the bottle. wheresthepath (192), Buckinghamshire, England May 16, 2008 [500ml bottle from brewery shop] Shared with Dave. Slightly darker than I expected from the "blond beer" description. No head at all; medium carbonation, exactly right for the style. Strong citrus (grapefruit and lemon) balanced with a refreshing bitterness. Still the Adnams malty flavour here though - tastes like a Broadside mixed with Hooegarden! A top notch beer when you’re thirsty, this also goes very well with spicy food. This is one of my favourite English ales, and I often go back to it. Appearance: Golden shade of amber with medium well-developed rocky/creamy top. Fragmental lace.4-. Nose : Aroma of honey , pale malts , dust , light zesty note behind.6- Flavor/Palate : Softly textured , medium bodied brew. Light, straightforward brew with plain session qualities. Mentioned hops were largely missing. Adnams should think on further developing texture of this ale as it would benefit brew with such profile quiet much. (p2+) 11+/20
