2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 alexcandy (58) - Whitstable, Kent, ENGLAND - FEB 2, 2011
500ml bottel from Adnams shop
Aroma-Some fruit and a little spice
Appearance- Large foamy off white head that disappeared, orange/copper slightly cloudy beer
Taste- Both bitterness and sweetness. Very shallow. Some spice but not a great deal.
Overall - Just ok. There was a tiny bit of the spice sort of taste that you get in Leffe, but no where near as good. I would drink it again but I would not rush out to buy it.

Cask. The Lansdowne, Leicester. As Adnams Kolner. Thin white head, clear amber body. Wheat, Adnams yeast, hop undertone, biscuity, mild sulphur. Bittersweet. Dry finish.

Bottle on 29/10/10. Citrus and coriander in the nose. Effervesence on the tough followed by limited bitterness. Easy to drink and tasty.

(Cask as Adnams German Style Kölner at Wenlock Arms, London) This was no kölsch. I don’t know whether that was even the aim but that was what I was expecting for. The beer lacked the freshness kölsch usually shows. Also, there was some sourness which I consider simply as a flaw. Not good. Nice attempt to do something different, though.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ethereal (2399) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 31, 2009
Cask at the Sun, Barnes, 18th Oct 09. Hazy gold with a tiny bit of declining white head. It’s got the distinctive taste but the palate and carbonation is that of an English bitter, rather flat for the style. Doesn’t really come together for me.

Cask Stillage from the Outside Marquee at the Prince Of Wales, Foxfield 07/11/2009
Hoppy aroma. Clear golden coloured hoppy and floral with a slightly acidic taste. Slightly dry and creamy malt finish.

Cask conditioned gravity dispense Merchants Inn Rugby. A hazy and headless orange coloured beer. The aroma is sweet and has peach notes. The taste is a bit floral and a bit yeasty. Fairy insipid to be honest with strange fruit notes.. Not good.

Cask@The Lord Nelson Southwold,
Pale Gold with a white head,Aroma of spice/fruit,Plenty of malt flavour from the Munich and Pilsner malts used.A hint of dry bitterness,Leading to a pleasant fruity finish from the Spalt hops used.
A decent drinkable cask lager.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 harrisoni (10067) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 19, 2009
Cask at Southwark Tavern. OK, forget that this is supposed to be a Kolsch. Having been to Koln, this isn’t even close. But as a golden ale, it is pretty decent. Gold, thin white head. Drinkable enough for a light tasting beer with some ok yeast character, some odd peach fruit on the flavour. Good as a beer, but not as a Kolsch.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 15, 2009
Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Gold with a white head. Gentle slightly spicy aroma and taste with a hoppy finish. Pleasant but rather pointless.
