Ghost Ship is a ghostly pale ale which takes its inspiration from Adnams 600-year-old haunted pub, The Bell. Brewed with a selection of malts - Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara. We use Citra, and a blend of other American hop varieties to create some great citrus flavours.

500ml bottle, pours clear amber gold, small white lace. Light malts, citrus hop, light bodied, thin texture, a bit too sweet for me but quite nice

Aroma is sweet tropical fruits, taste is sweetish malty tropical fruits, mango mostly, I seem to remember this was hoppier ie more bitter, also a bit watery I think but still very good.

On sale at Tesco (4 of any designated beers for 6 pounds) 500ml bottle. Pale gold colour with medium white head dissipating slowly and gentle carbonation. Golden delicious apple, then grapefruit, biscuity malt on the aroma.Similar on the taste ending in a dry, bitter-sweet finish. Nice, refreshing ale at slightly cooler than cellar temperature.

440ml can. A pleasant English style pale ale with caramel malts and flowery/citrusy hops on the nose and tongue with a touch of yeasty earthiness. Medium-light bodied with a lowish carbonation making for easy drinkabiliity. Clear copper-amber appearance with a decent creamy white head. Quite reasonably priced at Dan Murphy’s at present.

Bottle from Tesco. (£1.65) Tried the tap version twice before and didn't like it at all. This is better - although with a bitterness that lasts a tad too long. Ok-ish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours transculescent amber - reddish colour with tiny yellow - white head. Medium fast rising small bubbles. Aroma without alcohol, with dominant notes of pinewood, earth. Taste is also without alcohol note. Dominate note of pinewood, mango, little citrous. Hop flavour firstly predominate flavour of malts, but finish is very well balanced. Hop bitterness is medium, finish is somehow dry with no so long lasting bitterness. Carbonation is soft. Malt sweetness is low. Body is tiny. Drinkable ale but not superlative.
