Ghost Ship is a ghostly pale ale which takes its inspiration from Adnams 600-year-old haunted pub, The Bell. Brewed with a selection of malts - Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara. We use Citra, and a blend of other American hop varieties to create some great citrus flavours.

Bottle. Pale amber with a residual head. Aroma is a little hoppy. Taste is hops and citrus, the hops produce a bitter finish at the end. Average body for a bitter. This is a well balanced golden ale. Even though Adnams produce good beers I wasn’t expecting this to be as good as it was.

440ml can. 31 Jan 15. Pours a bright, pale gold/light amber colour with a large frothy white head which settled down to a couple of millimetres, leaving minimal lacing. Big hop aroma along the lines of an American Pale Ale: pine, resin and citrus; but also some underlying bready maltiness. Quite bitter but not excessively & some gentle sweetness but it’s the bitterness that dominates. Light to medium body, quite thin texture, low carbonation and a lingering bitter finish. 7.

Bottle from Seoul Plaza. Clean crisp hoppy aroma, fruity, flowery. Caramel base. Clear golden to amber colour. Relatively stable head. Taste begins softly caramelly malty, fruity hops flavours, then moderate bitterness appears. The overall flavour impression does not seem particularly citrusy to me, especially not in comparison with American ales. However it is an easily drinkable well made beer.

Bottle, 4.5%. Green apple aroma. Cloudy orange colour. Small white head. The flavour has a little green apple along with a mild hop bite. Rather uncomplicated, but not bad.

Bottle @ Hoppy Advent Race in Space, Sønderborg. Pours hazy amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of fruit and malt, with notes of hops and touches of yeast. Sweetish flavour of fruit, with hoppy notes, giving way to rough, malty and estery touches. Bitter and rough finish. Okay but nithing particularly impressive. A little watery.
