Ghost Ship is a ghostly pale ale which takes its inspiration from Adnams 600-year-old haunted pub, The Bell. Brewed with a selection of malts - Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara. We use Citra, and a blend of other American hop varieties to create some great citrus flavours. Bronze Medal Winner at The International Brewing Awards 2013, Silver Medal winner at the 2014 International Beer Challenge and Gold Medal Winner at The Indie Beer Can Awards 2014 (Contains barley & rye). Available (pasteurised) in 500ml bottles and 440ml cans.

Can - pours clear pale orange with a big white head. Clementine, elderflower, soap and ever so slightly skunky. Taste is very thin up front with some sweetness progressing into a dry finish. Mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side too.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury’s. Pours amber with good off-white head. Does have a faint salty sea breeze to the aroma. Odd. Decent amber pale, with light earthy malts, some spice and faint caramel. Decent English pale.

Bardzo ciekawe pale ale. Bursztynowe o duzej pianie. W zapachu odrazu uderza chmielowy aromat. W smaku dominuja cytrusy co daje niepowtarzalne polaczenie z goryczkowym finiszem.zdecydowanie dobre.

Bottle from Waitrose. Pours mid brown clear with small frothy head, leaves some lacing. Aroma apples and malty biscuits. Taste less sweet with some oily hoppiness. Pleasant enough but not particularly distinctive.

Rating #1231 - 15.08.2014 - On tap @revolutionyeg. Clear yellow pour with a bubbly white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is bready, sweet malts and grainy/grassy. Taste is a freight train of malt, medium bodied, with a tiny hoppy kick at the end to keep things interesting - grassy bitterness tempers the light bready malty sweetness. Pretty average.

Clear darker gold color with small off white foam. Weak aroma of hops. Palate, high carbonation, bitter and heavier with bitter aftertaste. Tastes of strongly of hops, bit on watery side. Overall not the best for the price.

440ml can - Quite expensive for a caned real ale at £5 for 4 x 440ml (comparison Speckled Hen is £4/50 for 4 x 500ml) but very tasty for a can with none of the flavour lost. A dry grapefruit taste with a slightly biscuit finish. Was well pissed off when I realised it was a 440ml can but the flavour goes some way to make up for that.

Very decent pint. Pine and mango in taste and aroma pours darker side of golden with nice small lasting head. Bottle at home.
