Ghost Ship is a ghostly pale ale which takes its inspiration from Adnams 600-year-old haunted pub, The Bell. Brewed with a selection of malts - Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara. We use Citra, and a blend of other American hop varieties to create some great citrus flavours. Bronze Medal Winner at The International Brewing Awards 2013 and Silver Medal winner at the 2014 International Beer Challenge (Contains barley & rye). Available (pasteurised) in 500ml bottles and 440ml cans.

(cask) clear amber colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of pears and some floral hops, with a hint of yeast, light marzipan and cashew nuts. flavour is mostly cactus juice and yeast, slightly green, with a hint of grainy pale malts and a light-bitter finish. medium-bodied with soft carbonation.

Uma das minhas cervejas favoritas! Ideal para ter em casa, para degustar com os amigos. Grande aroma e paladar. Boa relação entre ambos.

On tap @Mad For Beer (Rome). Clear golden with a fine white head. Nose is delicate, malt, bread, biscuits, subtle hoppyness (citrus and fruits). Flavour is moderate sweet with a decent bitter end, well balanced as a perfect british session ale. Light body, no carbonation. I could drink it all night without stopping.

Beer of The Festival So Far for me, but I’ve only just realised there’s a festival on. Brilliant gold, pure white slick. Juicy, honeyed grapefruit and lemon rind aroma-8. Soft and perfumed with well-wrung green hop notes, passion fruit, lychee and lime. Cashew afters, and a suggestion of coriander.

Cask at the College Arms Bloomsbury. Post exam drinks, so short review. Orange, light haze, small white head. Body is medium, smooth. Taste is bready, light malt, soft bitterness, light citrus. Standard stuff.

Doesn’t start out too bad - there’s some of the Adnams house breadiness that you get in e.g. Southwold bitter. But after a few sips the limitations become obvious. There is very little hops character, the malt flavour is annoyingly bland and lacks depth and complexity, and the body is thin and watery.

Cask @ Barton Arms, Worsley. Relatively smooth tasting golden pale ale. Nice and light in texture and in the palate with a lovely malt-hop nose and fruits in its aftertaste.

Cask at Gladstone in London. Not much aroma. Stone fruits, some citrus. Almost like drinking peach juice, but very watery unfortunately. Actually better than my rating suggests, but completely lacking any depth.
