Cask; Regular. Originally a special but was made permanent.
Note: The original version of this beer used Pale Ale malt, Crystal malt, Munich & some Wheat malt and the hops were specified as Columbus, Chinook & Citra.

At 4.5% abv, this Pale Ale has a good assertive pithy bitterness and a malty backbone. It is brewed with a selection of malts – Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara – we use Citra, and a blend of other American hop varieties to create some great citrus flavours.

Half in Fighting Cocks in Moseley. Had a roast too, wasn’t bad. Ordered 2 puddings, they bought us 3. Complained and he said sorry, here’s your money back for overcharging, keep the extra pudding. I did. I ate it. It was nice. Apple and strawberry crumble with custard. I like custard. Pudding was really good but there wasn’t enough custard. Pudding was better than the beer, which was quite good. DId anyone say ’thin hop veneer’?

On tap pours nice clear gold amber with decent white head aroma is full notes of pine lemon line and grapefruit. Taste has malty base overlaid with rich hoppy bitterness that last and lasts with some sour citrus notes. Good mouthfeel. Refreshing. A very decent pint

Cask at The Vaults, Knowle, Solihull. Clear golden brown pour with a thin frothy white head. Malty aroma with a bitter malty slightly sour taste with some bitterness lingering on the palate. A really flavourful, satisfying ale where that palate bitterness really refused to go away. All that was missing was the roaring open fire!

Draught in Waterbeach, Cambs. Ordinary looking amber beer, slight fruity nose. Then comes one of the best real ales I’ve had in years. Just a delightful bitterness with fruit tones. Nothing overstated, and that is where its beauty lies.Well done, Adnams!

From rumley wells norwich. Slightly sweet smell, probably cites hop coming through. Quite bitter on the taste.

Cask @ The Colonel Fawcett. Light amber color with a creamy white head. The nose is light grapefruit and some citrus. Breakfast cereal and some honey. Faint. The taste is light grapefruit and more citrus, some sugar cookies and bread. Somewhat watery, light body. Overall, not much to see here!

Cask at Wetherspoons on Whitehall, London. A deep golden coloured pour with a healthy off white head. Fresh hoppy, citrus fruit aroma. Tastes hoppy, malty, citrus/grapefruit. Lovely and fresh. The best pint I’ve had in a Wetherspoons for some time.

Hand pulled cask at the Moon Under Water (JDW) Watford. Amber with a lively off white head. Impressively hoppy in an American way and well balanced against a clean malt profile. Grapefruit and lime with a lovely oily resinous swallow. Excellent!

Cask, Thorpeness Golf Club, Suffolk. Darkish amber colour with a vague off white head. Gentle hop and fruit present in the nose. Fullish, mouthfeel. More juicy fruit in the fragrant flavour alongside some decent hoppage. Dryish bitter finish. Pretty downable stuff. Much better than anticipated and in good condition too. .
