Cask; Regular. Originally a special but was made permanent.
Note: The original version of this beer used Pale Ale malt, Crystal malt, Munich & some Wheat malt and the hops were specified as Columbus, Chinook & Citra.

At 4.5% abv, this Pale Ale has a good assertive pithy bitterness and a malty backbone. It is brewed with a selection of malts – Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara – we use Citra, and a blend of other American hop varieties to create some great citrus flavours.

Slightly sweet aroma, very bland. Decent hoppy body. Orangy fruity malts. OK balance, but lacking cispness. However, finish is quite sulfury hops and lasts a while. OK, I guess.

GBBF Cask. Finally catching up with this one after it was the only beer I missed from Spoons winter fest 2010! Hazy gold beer, decent suddy white head. Tiny bit of sulphur. Some raw tasting malt. A little grapefruit hops. Semi dry finish. The wait wasn’t worth it!

Cask (gravity) - The Duke of Wellington, Norwich. Poured a clear amber with a small & lasting creamy-bubbly white head leaving a solid lace. Some apple on the nose with a touch of toasted malt, a light floral edge, a delicate wheat note & a pale malt sweetness. Flavours of lightly tangy lemon & lime and more sweeter pale malts finishing with a crisp, zesty hoppiness. Light to medium body, firm, soft mouthfeel with a good carbonation crispness and a medium length finish.
