3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap. Aroma of pine, orange marmelade, breadiness.
Pours clear golden with almost no head.
Taste is medium bitter and medium sweet. Taste follows the nose with a piney and orange hoppy taste backed up by underlying bready malt.
Medium light body, pretty easy drinking, average carbonation. Finshes a bit hoppy. Feels more like a english pale ale to me.

Cask, at the Wharf. Dark golden in the glass, close to clear, with a thin, bubbly off-white head. Perfumed, peachy and citrusy aroma with little malt impact. Quite bitter flavor, citrusy and zesty, with some peach. Medium body and a soft carbonation. Rather dry, with a long bitter and citrusy finish with some light maltyness. Quenching and quaffable. 160622

While not especially exciting, this is a classic British pale/ golden ale, designed for gluging. Some light malt sweetness, balanced by a gentle hop profile

Traditional pale ale meets American hops. In concept, a perfect match. In practice, not far off. Lovely soapy light body from the cask with gently fruity notes. Good for a summer session.
