Ghost Ship is a ghostly pale ale which takes its inspiration from Adnams 600-year-old haunted pub, The Bell. Brewed with a selection of malts - Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara. We use Citra, and a blend of other American hop varieties to create some great citrus flavours. Bronze Medal Winner at The International Brewing Awards 2013 and Silver Medal winner at the 2014 International Beer Challenge (Contains barley & rye). Available (pasteurised) in 500ml bottles and 440ml cans.

Draught at the Linen Weaver. A really bright, fruity aroma. Citrus hop with a slightly sweet malt character. Well-rounded but a bit too sweet by the end.

An excellent example of what a British Bitter should be - woody & floral hops finished off with a good amount of bitterness. Rated by BrewTom

Malty aroma. Appearance okay. Taste spicy caramel with fruity tones. Nice hint of vanilla at end. Bitterness is good on palate with out being too much. Better than bottle or can.

On tap. Pours clear amber with a beautiful thick, solid creamy off white head. Aroma is light sweet malts, some yeast, light spices, hops. Taste is similar with more fruity notes from the hops, some citrus, light final bitterness. Medium body, watery texture, light carbonation.

On tap@The Blackwater Stream - Broadstone. A fantastic ale from Suffolk based Adnams. Straight after the pour a heavy fermented head builds, but is quickly dissipated/topped. On the nose; the malt & yeast presence is unmistakeable, earthy elements creep in alongside vanilla (right at the end). It is non-carbonated and it has a warm, off red hue. In typical style it has a complexity that "Creeps" up after a couple of good mouthfuls. Largely caramel undertones dominate, alongside hay, citrus notes (summer style-originally May-Oct brew), mature "dark" powerful (not overpowering) hoppiness. Malt and lemon & lime on the palate after swallow - good bitterness remains. Satisfying pint! In my opinion, this is one of the few ales that perfectly balances A.B.V potency and flavour. Normally Iím wishing it had more flavour or more alcohol, or both...but I reckon the balance here is spot on. This would make a fantastic session ale, but sadly I was on my way home from work after knocking off an hour early, so stopped for a cheeky pint en-route, shame. Like: Hopback Brewery - Summer Lightening, Sharpís - Special/Doombar/Own.

Gravity at the Aldburgh Country Show. Amber with some off white froth. The taste is surprisingly hoppy with some citrus and pine notes. Some caramel undertones too. Much better than expected. A good full flavoured bitter.

Restaurant in Essex, England. Colour about old gold and ruby. Nice citrus aroma of citra. Balanced malty sweetness. Light bitterness of chinook. Easy drinking but also well built and complex. Very good cask ale. Something in between of UK and USA.

Cask at the Waldringfield Maybush, Suffolk. Pours a pale gold colour with a small white head. Aroma is mildly hoppy, with citrus and floral notes. Lightly sweet accompanied by a light bitterness. Body is quite light, texture slightly oily. Average carbonation. Hoppy bitterness to finish. Decent summer ale.

Cask at the Hounslow JDW, amber with a lacing white head, floral and lightly tropical fruit nose, crisply bitter and juicy with hints of grapefruit and peach, lovely.
