Cask at the Gunmakers, London on 10th February 2010. Rich, intensely grassy and aromatic with classic Adnams haystack straw nose and a bitter, spicy aftertaste. Zingy mouthfeel.

Cask at The Cleveland Arms, London. Pours clear amber-brown with a medium, off-white foam. Lightly toasted malts, light fruits and leaves in the nose. Sweet flavor, some toasty dough, light tangy dark fruits, some subtle toffee. Light bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Clean, sweet, malty finish, with undertones of toffee and toasted leaves. Not bad. Pretty basic mild.

Cask at the King’s Head W2. Dark copper coloured ale, initial taste is dark cake fruity with some caramel sweetness, with a pleasant bitter aftertaste. A good session beer, although I found the flavours less interesting by the end of the second pint.

Deep ruby color with a modest off-white head. The nose is a bit neutral, but reveals brown sugar and plums on closer inspection. The taste’s sweet and fruity. The finish is dry and thirst-quenching. The body’s medium-light with subtle carbonation. I like this, it’s certainly more interesting than your standard cask beer.

Tasted this in The Esquire House, Glasgow (JDW) in April 2009. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear garnet red in colour with a tight creamy buff head. Good malt note in the short aroma and a creamy mouthfeel. Good lacing throughout. Fiery maltloaf full in the mouth with redcurrant fruit and a stale toffee note evident. Short intensity of hop resins with Adnams metallic signature note in the aftertaste. Sweet edge to the pleasant finish. Tastes more like a ruby ale than a mild though. A good session ale.

hand pumped at JJ Moons in the UK. Poured clear ruby with a nice lasting creamy off white head. Faint, fruity malt aroma. Smooth creamy mouthfeel, no carbonation. Light caramel malt flavour, hints of corriander. Finishes with a light bitterness. Very drinkable.
