Bottled; Occasional. Originally brewed as a one off to celebrate the opening of our new brewhouse and our new distribution centre, we have decided to repeat the beer again in 2009. It came first in its class at the 2008 World beer awards and has also won a Gold medal at the 2008 BBI (British Bottlers Institute) awards. The beer was created under the direction of our Chairman, Jonathan Adnams, whose instruction was to ‘Brew something to wow me’. The beer, our version of an American IPA, is brewed with a blend of Wheat and Pale ale malts to give a spicy, biscuity undertone to the beer, but it is in the hops where the beer really shines. A blend of hops from England, Slovenia and America (namely Boadicea, Columbus and Stryian Goldings) combine to give a wonderful grapefruit and tropical fruit aroma and bitterness that is balanced by the sweetness of the barley.

Bit middle of the road. Reminds me a bit of White Shield. Nicely balanced with good lacing. Fresh tasting. Not disappointing but probably won’t buy again.

330ml bottle from Cotteridge Wines. Pours shiny gold with a light fruity citrus aroma. Taste presents some distinct tangerine alongside some orange pith. Delicious, moderately sweet and very drinkable, with a bitter citrus finish.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden beer with a small white head on top. Aroma is light grapefruit, decent many backbone with some caramel. Flavor is light bitter, decent amount of hops. The flavor starts off quite bitter, ends fairly sweet. Well in balance, easy drinkable. Decent beer.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, clear orange-amber with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, yeast, spice, hints of sour fruit, hints of cardboard, slight lemony, floral, and herbal notes. Taste is a mix of herbs, grass, cardboard, hints of sweet caramel, oxidation, red fruit, finishing sweet. Hope to try this fresh some day.

Pours a clear, light golden appearance with an off white head. Kind of spicy, earthy, herbal hoppy, bready nose. A bit juicy flavor. Some citrusy. Chewy bready flavor. Pass.

Bottle @ KDT14 @ benzai. Slightly hazy orange colour with a small to medium sized white head. Smells very malty, sweet.. Not much to say. Tastes very sweet, malty, raisins, roze kermis zoetstok.. I don’t like this. Medium body, soft carbo.
