Bottled; Occasional. Originally brewed as a one off to celebrate the opening of our new brewhouse and our new distribution centre, we have decided to repeat the beer again in 2009. It came first in its class at the 2008 World beer awards and has also won a Gold medal at the 2008 BBI (British Bottlers Institute) awards. The beer was created under the direction of our Chairman, Jonathan Adnams, whose instruction was to ‘Brew something to wow me’. The beer, our version of an American IPA, is brewed with a blend of Wheat and Pale ale malts to give a spicy, biscuity undertone to the beer, but it is in the hops where the beer really shines. A blend of hops from England, Slovenia and America (namely Boadicea, Columbus and Stryian Goldings) combine to give a wonderful grapefruit and tropical fruit aroma and bitterness that is balanced by the sweetness of the barley.

Very tart smell with obvious hints of grapefruit and orange. Apparently this is very reminiscent of orange calpol. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared with McTapps. And I honestly must admit this one should be shared with the whole world. I have never discovered a beer which was that fliwerish and fresh with that high abv. It is also hoppy and has some citrus in the back but hitting you with a really light taste, some tulips and roses behind it - well, this special. Maybe a bit strange in some moments but also very unpredictable. High scores all the way.

Pours out of the bottle in a unclear cloudy orange colour with steady low head and flat, smooth body. Although the nose of acid, grapefruit and watermelon seems to be a little bit strange and dusty, the taste is much better: Fresh, spicy hops, grapefruit, citrus, limes, coriander, pepper, mint and rosmary. Hints of wild herbs and wild flowers. Lovely to drink - so refreshing, quaffable and delicious. Unfortunately the glass was emty too soon, could use another couple of this.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2013 Tap @ Pelt Trader, London, 28/08/13. Pours a hazy golden orange with a large, white head. Aroma is fruity, citrusy, peachy. Taste is citrus, peach, light banana. Some apricot as well. Some biscuityness. Finishes dry with lemon and grapefruit. Grapefruity aftertaste. Smooth and a lot of carbonation.

Tap@Pelt Trader, Cannon Street, London - Pours fuzzy orange with medium puffy white head. Malty caramel, medium undertones of citrus in there but "a little bit messy" on the palate for me. Ok overall all.

Noe uklar lys brun, lite skum. Lukter hvete og appelsin. Noe metalliskk og hvete også i smaken, middels bitterhet, middels kullsyre.

Didn’t really work; the aroma coming from the glass is too fragile for what is supposed to be an American IPA. The hops and the malt aren’t playing nicely together, and the body is a too light. But, thinking of it instead as a pale ale, it’s not too bad. A little fruity, a little sweet, a mild sticky bitterness at the end. Good, but not great.

Bottle from a trade with Cunningham. Many thanx for that gem!
BBE date 20.Jan.2013! Pours pale orange with very flat head. Smell is hoppy-fruity, slight floral. Starts floral hoppy, very bitterish, with lots of floral hops and slight fruity nuances. Middle part is also very floral, with some citrus fruits in the background. Some caramel malts are noticeable. Goes into a caramelly and floral hoppy finish.
