Bottled; Occasional. Originally brewed as a one off to celebrate the opening of our new brewhouse and our new distribution centre, we have decided to repeat the beer again in 2009. It came first in its class at the 2008 World beer awards and has also won a Gold medal at the 2008 BBI (British Bottlers Institute) awards. The beer was created under the direction of our Chairman, Jonathan Adnams, whose instruction was to ‘Brew something to wow me’. The beer, our version of an American IPA, is brewed with a blend of Wheat and Pale ale malts to give a spicy, biscuity undertone to the beer, but it is in the hops where the beer really shines. A blend of hops from England, Slovenia and America (namely Boadicea, Columbus and Stryian Goldings) combine to give a wonderful grapefruit and tropical fruit aroma and bitterness that is balanced by the sweetness of the barley.

Bottle at home from whole foods. As innovation flavoursome ale. Aroma is nice spicy, orange skin with some alcohol presence. Golden colour with a fleeting white head. Flavour is biscuit malt, spicy, tangerine and orange skin. Some yeast esters. Medium body, average carbonation. Tasty beer.

6% roughly 450 yen from Asahiya. A classic mellow orange gold IPA color with a foamy head that lingers & leaves lacing behind. It has a pleasantly hoppy aroma with citrus, pine & a mild peppery spiciness. The flavor malty, biscuity a bit rough with a bitter fruity/spicy flavor with just a hint of mustiness. Hoppier than your average English IPA but still much milder than an American IPA. Decent enough, I like the label more than the beer which is a bit average.

500 ml bottle. Opaque golden orange, foamy off-white head settles and fades. Pungent tropical fruit, light floral hop aroma. Juicy tropical fruity hop taste, mellow citrus, lightly flowery and herbal with mild sweet malts. Soft carbonation, lighter side of medium bodied, medium hopped. Lightly bitter and quite dry towards the finish, refreshing and delicious makes it: LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)

Bottle 50 cl, BBE 30.9.2014. Pours golden in color with a small head. Exotic fruits as in mango and peach in aroma, also some lemony notes here. Really nice actually. Lemony notes, some floral and exotic fruityness in taste. Bit of biting spicy peppery notes as well in taste, but still more on the fruitier side towards the finish. Later some more soapier and bitter notes appears. Still a good one

330ml really nice bottle. Herbal, some pine and fruity , subtle solvent like aromas. Pours quite clear, dark gold, with vanishing white head, poor lacework. Medium body, average carbonation, crispy texture. Fruity, dry, pine, starts mild bitter but later within the sip turns into a non so pleasant one.

280913: Unclear orange IPA by a great white foam and a lovely fruity aroma. The taste is slightly bitter and delightful citrus hoppy.

330ml bottle from Beer Hawk - A thick orange body, with a foamy white head to match. Lots of ripe citrus on the nose, bitter spiced oranges, some piney floral notes too. The body on this is great, nice oily mouthfeel, a lasting ending from the marmalade-esque taste. Overall a great beer to finish the night on.

Bottle. Low fluffy white and quickly disappearing head. Hazy yellow body. Sweet fruity aroma and flavor with a suitable amount of hops bitterness and a solid malt base. Notes of grapefruit as well. Low carbonation. Long bitter finish.
