COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Special - June/July 2003, but has appeared occasionally since.
A very special beer for a very special occasion. Brewed with First Gold hops and balanced with citrus flavours, this beer has a clean hop bitterness retaining some of the Adnams Bitter flavour we all love.

The Bridge House, London Bridge - part of the Southwark Beer Tour. Served slightly warm. An earthy bitter. Hops are quite assertive. Fresh ans strong with tea and cannabis flavours. This is actually very good, and hop heads will rave over it - but it’s just not to my taste. Huge fresh hop aroma. Probably the hoppiest British beer I’ve ever had.

First tasted this in the Lord Nelson, Southwold. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale copper in colour with a thin white head. Slight malty aroma and a thin mouthfeel. Good lacing. Pale malt base gives a digestive biscuit flavour with hints of raisin fruit. Spicy hops in the aftertaste and a bitter sweet finish. An ok session bitter.

Cask (The Castle, Cambridge) Light brown, little head. Served perfectly. Wonderful hoppy aroma, plenty of sweet malt too. Hints towards light fruits and berries. Even better in the mouth, one of Adnams’ finest bitters - lots of hops, but very well balanced. Unsurprisingly hoppy finish ;-)

[Cask conditioned at Wenlock Arms] Pale amber/brown coloured. Fruity aroma with hoppy notes. Sweet and fruity flavour. Bitter and dry finish.

(Hand Pump) A light copper coloured beer with a medium white head. This beer at The Cabinet in Reed, Hertfordshire was in absolutely premium condition. Hops and hay in the aroma, initial taste gave a bland flavour for 2 seconds, when the intense bitterness floods through. After the palate acclimatises there is some sweetness that comes in for those 2 seconds, but the overall impression was of a clean, fresh and bright beer that proudly displays it's intense bitterness. A great pint, try one if you see one!

UPDATED: JUL 24, 2003 Cask Conditioned, at the Wenlock Arms.
Jubilee was brewed at the beginning of June to celebrate the Golden Jubilee. Brewed to order, Dave has got his hands on 4 x nines. This was 2 of 4. So still two to come for those of you who want a rare rate. Golden colour with a chucky, frothy white head. It was my first beer last night at the WA and I ripped it down. This beer has good bitterness, which jumps out of the glass and meets you half way. This beer was full or confidence and very sure of its purpose in life. The body and structure were all built around the big bitter presence leaving it a little one dimensional but otherwise a nice drop.
