Decent enough session ale - pleasant earthy hops, a nice dry bitterness and a hint of citrus.

I had it under the name Eat, Drink, and Be Jolly at the Piccadilly pub in Manchester. Light amber gold with a simple off-whie lasting head. Smells of malt, caramel, light hop citrus and orange. Nice flowery smell. Medium oily body. Sweet fruity peach malt start with a simple dry hop bitter finish. Common enough light bitter.

Hand pulled at the White Swan, Edgbaston, Birmingham. Frothy amber bitter. Soft caramel flavour, with buttery pepper body. In many ways this is sort of a classic UK style bitter and it was served in great condition, but ut’s just a hopless, undramatic flavour. Refreshing, but not my style.

Cask at the Durrell Arms, Fulham, 28th April 2011. Clear copper, little head. Really tasty best bitter. Nice balance. Nothing amazing but better than I was expecting. Really drinkable.

On cask at The Haymarket. Pours a dark golden colour with a decent white head. Aroma of citrusy lemon, Weetabix malt and caramel. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation and a creamy mouth-feel. Quite dry also.

Cask. Frothy white fair mostly deminishing head. Dark yellow colour. Moderate malty grainy and light hioppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.

Cask @ The Dog and Duck. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, fruits, hops and malt. Dry bitter finish. Soft carbonated and medium bodied.

As Adnams Eat, Drink and Be Jolly. Cask @ 3 Craws. Orange colour, white head. Nose is light malted, bit of sourness. Flavour is light malts, fruits, bit of sourness, followed by dry biscuit. A bit bland.

Cask at The Green Man, Trumpington, Cambridgeshire, under the alias of Adnams Eat Drink and be Jolly. Amber-gold. Pleasing malty aroma and taste with a little background fruit. Mid bitter finish. Nice low-gravity beer but devoid of any semblance of Christmas atmosphere, which I unkindly punished in my overall score.

Cask conditioned at The Easington Hotel, Banbury (Ember Inns). Gold to amber with white head. Thinnish, slightly astringent beer with a pine like note. Dull and hardly festive really, little on the flavour front.

Cask conditioned, gravity dispensed, at The Olde Reinedeer, Banbury. Pale gold with no head. Flowery, perfumed light beer, really quite thin on the palate, although reasonable for ABV. A slight metallic note in the close.
