yespr (7788), Copenhagen O, Denmark Nov 21, 2008 From cask at Market Porter. Pours dark and golden deep amber to brown with a lacing off-white head. Light malty and fruity aroma. Mild spiced and malty flavoured with a light bitterness coming through. Mild bitterness into the finish. Light roasted and spiced lasting impression. fiulijn (6010), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Nov 28, 2008 Gravity at The Bree Louise, London, 5-3-6-2-11
Very dark brown color with amber shades. Very simple beer, just with some dry caramel and dark chocolate flavor; almost boring. Could as well be a Mild.

2008-10-09, cask conditioned at Market Porter, London, 5-3-6-3-11=28
Dark brown color with amber shades; thin creamy head. Light aroma, stale water. It has some caramel and medium chocolate flavor, average bitterness, but not much interesting, just a plain Brown Ale to drink while chatting. harrisoni (5474), Ashford, Kent, England Nov 23, 2006 Cask handpull at The Bridge House, London. Ruby colour with disappearing beige head. Slightly sour fruit aroma. Wonderful in mouth. Dark fruit aroma. Has some sourness. Bit like Harvey’s Old, lacks the real sourness I’m looking for. Sour plums and tobacco, fruit and choc and very slight sourness in mouth. Finish lasts with slightly sour plum, Victoria Plum, I rather like the fruit. I like it, fruity and interesting. Soft mouth feel. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Jun 28, 2004 Cask@The Wenlock Arms. Was a little dissapointed, but it was OK. A bit raw in flavour, nothing really pokes out in the flavour or mouthfeel department (or in appearance and aroma for that matter). In other words, it tastes of its ingredients and nothing else. Some dry, lightly resiny hops to finsi off. NOthing fancy, but still liked it, some soft chocolate and acidity noticed. chriso (4420), London, Greater London, England Nov 13, 2006 Cask (handpump), Bridge House, Tower Bridge. A welcome return for this beer which, at one time, seemed to have been jettisoned from the Adnams portfolio. Attractive deep ruby red colour, with a lasting beige head. Sweet, malty aroma with liquorice and caramel accents. Fruity, juicy flavour, with the emphasis on cherry and some dry notes underlying. Elements of chocolate with the liquorice developing into the finish. Smooth and sweetish. Rather nice but lacks a touch of bite on the finish.
