From cask at Market Porter. Pours dark and golden deep amber to brown with a lacing off-white head. Light malty and fruity aroma. Mild spiced and malty flavoured with a light bitterness coming through. Mild bitterness into the finish. Light roasted and spiced lasting impression.

Cask at Woking beer festival. Pours a dark brown coloured beer with a thin white head. The aroma is very malty, the taste is malty and with a hint of winter fruits, with a clean finish.

Cask in The Old Mill, Aldebrough. Very dark brown with reddish tints and off white foamy head. Nose is subtle peaty, earthy and minerally aroma. Taste is same: peaty, earthy with a bit of overripe fruit and overripe bananas. Flat carbonation and not really a huge amount of flavour.

Cask by handpump at Last Post, Paisley (6 Jan 12) - pours mahogany colour with a good cream head and no discernible aroma, hint of nut / chocolate flavour with a musty bitter aftertaste.

Cask - The Glass House (JDW), Norwich. Poured a dark, ruddy brown with a thick & creamy lasting beige head leaving a dense lacing. Red fruit & subtle roasted malt aromas. Nutty & cakey, some more mid fruits on the tongue . Almost no bitterness to speak of, just a dash on the finish. A bit watery & metallic for my liking. Seemed just a step up from a keg smooth bitter really.

Malty caramels, raisin, milk, bit of liquorice spice, but still blander that I was hoping for, and I’m not sure it was in the best condition off the cask.

Gravity at The Bree Louise, London, 5-3-6-2-11
Very dark brown color with amber shades. Very simple beer, just with some dry caramel and dark chocolate flavor; almost boring. Could as well be a Mild.

2008-10-09, cask conditioned at Market Porter, London, 5-3-6-3-11=28
Dark brown color with amber shades; thin creamy head. Light aroma, stale water. It has some caramel and medium chocolate flavor, average bitterness, but not much interesting, just a plain Brown Ale to drink while chatting.

Cask at the Cock and Hen, Fulham. A bit grainy, rather anonymous beer, there is nothing here that leaps put and hits you. I think it is true to character - the opposite of fresh. A little nuttiness.

Off tap off a bar in norwich. Looks like it should be tasty but really tastes of very little. Shame.

Cask at The Cock and Hen Fulham 4 Feb 08. Dark mahogany colored. A small off white creamy head. Disappointing lack of aroma. Quite good looking. Modest flavor with traces of caramel. Hardly any more to report.
