3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle. A deep amber with a one finger, slowly fading off-white head. Dominant aromas of caramel and biscuit malt with some grassiness and English hop dryness. A bit heavy on the caramel malt flavour-wise too but otherwise quite bitter and resolutely quaffable. Medium length finish and carbonation on a light to medium body.

Flaske kjøpt på Berentsens ølutsalg, delt med Ovesen: frisk og fruktig smak med litt karamellsødme i tillegg. En ypperlig forfriskning en søndag formiddag mens vi venter på at mesken skal bli ferdig.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Dark amber color with a thin whitish head. Dirty caramel malt, earthy, dry. Nuts, wood, resin, with a bitterness that is not all in the hops. Rather disappointing.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear medium amber pour with a 1 finger, soapy off white head that has decent retention and leaves some lacing. Aroma has lots of fruity ester, mostly tree fruit, and a little banana, planty, floral and citrus hops, caramel, bread crust, toast and light cereal. Flavor is again pretty fruity, nice toasty notes, biscuit, planty and floral hops, white raisin and some citrus toffee, and light mineral notes to teh finish. Light body, light, but somewhat sharp, blanketing carbonation, creamy to oily entry, slowly drying out to and off dry finish that has an odd, but pleasant lingering carbonation. Pretty good bitter, sweeter and stronger in flavor than one would expect from 4.1%ABV, even in an English Bitter. Would be a great fried food pairing, sessioner at a lower price point, I paid $3.99/500ml.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Better than your average shite bitter that comes out in droves in the UK. Missus asked for something malty to share over roast beef, so I went with this as most of my stuff is hoppy or roasted. She liked it. It was nice. Not hugely malty but not very bitter either.
