Don’t understand the low ratings, unless it wasn’t fresh. Enjoyable session (best) bitter-well balanced. Slight chocolate malt in the finish, some taste of fuggles hops-earthy & spicy. Hops not overdone, but to style. Nice yeast Esters-just enough.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pretty good brew. Poured at a good temperature with a nice sized, foamy, frothy, fluffy, cream-colored head that settles after a bit and some lace. Color is a clear amber copper. Aroma is beery, malt, hop, toffee, caramel, fruit. Flavor’s much like nose and bitter up front, then carbonic tang with a little malt sweet under. Body and carbonation are good. Finish is like flavor, of average length and is very drinkable.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
For a beer that has come straight from the bottle, it looks as good as beer can: Lustrous amber with an enduring collar of white head that is leaving good lace down the glass. What impresses me about this beer, and indeed most of Adnam’s beers, is how it/they exemplify all that is good about the malt character of classic English bitters and the elegant balance with English hops. It is a harmonious blend of ripe citrus and orchard fruitiness and slightly herbal hoppiness. Rich, full and dripping with autumnal bounty. This is reflected in the flavour which is silky and oily in the mouth. Imagine this pint, some cheese and an afternoon in a pub with your favourite bar maid and, my friend, life doesn’t get much better.

Dobry i gożki bitter. Bursztynowy kolor, mocna piana chć średniej wielkości, trochę pęcherzykowata. Aromat słaby choś świeże trawy wyczuwalne. Finisz jeszcze bardziej gożki niż pierwsze łyki degustacji. Klasyczny bitter

Very smooth and soft ale that works just as good at the dinner table as in the sofa on it’s own.

Malt, caramel bread type of aroma. Medium brown body with a bit of an orange hue.. Light tan head about a half inch or so to start and settles relatively quick to a light film. Mild sweet fruit and malt taste with a touch of bitterness. Touch of apple like crispness. Has a full thick feel.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma: The smell is sweet fresh bread with a dash of honey, ripe apples and pears. An orange, almost metallic finish.
Appearance: The ale is clear honey amber, a warm off-white head that settles slowly leaving very good lacing. Very small curtains.
Taste: Starts sweet, brown bread, brown sugar, a dash of oranges, then a straight bitter finish.
Palate: Medium carbonation, small foamy bubbles, soft and refreshing, a rather long dry finish.
Overall: Very session-able, a nice relaxing ale. The can bought in Sweden says 4.1% ABV.
Note: Can 500 ml. Reviewed 2011-12-12.

Bottle. This brewery continues to impress with yet another classy bitter,Crisp and sharp with a slightly malty finish. Bitters sometimes bore me-this one didn’t. Definitely worth checking out.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Brown 500ml bottle with a 4.5% Bitter inside, best before 16th July 2009, drank on 22nd April 2009. Poured (twice) into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip shaped glass.
Lovely, lovely, lovely. Deep amber body with a very good, rich and high tanned head. The beer had a teak wood sort of hue to it, clear and wholesome looking too.
Very different to the cask version and a lot stronger in alcohol. The aroma, taste and mouthfeel just don’t match up and why should they, this is obviuosly a completely different beer.
Hops, barley and nuts in the aroma, along with some malt bread and toasted brown bread.
The beer just tastes right, good bitter bite and a hoppy aftertaste, a classic British Bitter.
Adnams are a favourite of mine and this is the sort of product that highlights why.
A joy to hold and drink!
