Strange blue bottle. Coppery straw colored pour. Tried to force a head, but wound up with a couple white bubbles along the edges of the glass. Bubbles continue to rise up from the bottom. Huge bubbles. An oil-slick surface. A peppery malt aroma. Sugary aroma as well. A fruity sweet flavor. No bitterness. Just sweet and fruity. Sweet aftertaste. Medium-bodied. Eh.

Keg in Sole Bay Inn, Southwold. Brewery is next door so this is beautifully fresh. Clear amber, with foamy white head. Nose is lovely grapefruit, barley grain, bit of something tropical in there too. Taste is citrous, grapefruit, lemon and grain malt. Full flavoured and yet light and refreshing. Good Summer ale.

33cl bottle. Golden with off-white head that quickly dissapears. Aroma is to fresh malts, grassy. Flavour is bready, malty, sweety, with some citric hints. Carbonation is low to medium. Body is medium. Texture is oily.

Appearance is dark golden with rapidly diminishing lacing, Aroma is floral hops, lemon, pine, white wine grapes but dom’t know why. Taste is lemon, wood, spples, floral, bitter, really nothing going on here I am afraid. Maybe skanked. Really stupid bottle colour. Probably light shot too. Nice bottle design but purple?? This is not an alcopop. Bottle - Tescos.

Pours a golden colour ale. nose is promosing with apple and malty notes but the body is not held together well. Overly hopped for my liking and the maltiness and sugar seemed at odds. Improves only slightly on warming up but another disappointing release from Adnams.

(bottle) Clear golden, little head. Aroma is primarily citrus with grassy notes. Light body, medium carbonation. Flavour status with citrus balanced by light malt, moving to a slightly hoppy finish hat has a seaweed / grass character. Falls a bit lat in the fnish. Overall, refreshing and pleasant.

330ml bottle. Clear orangey golden colour with small frothy, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy, slightly wheaty and bitter hoppy aroma with a fresh lemongrass note. Fresh taste, decent sweetness, a touch of orange. Light-bodied, but a very drinkable thirst quencher.

Fairly bland - a bit lagerish just with an aftertaste of citrus and a bit less sweet than a lager. OK

330ml blue bottle. Dark yellowish color. Small white head, stays. Fresh malts aroma. Tastes fruity and sweet. Mild. Sidenote: I love that blue bottle.

Bottle (330ml from Sainsburys): Light smelling with some faint hops and a little bit more of malts and touches of toffee/caramel as well.
Light caramel brown colour with a bubbly white head that fades quickly to leave a tiny amount of bubbles around the side of the glass.
Fairly bitter tasting beer to begin with, there is a bit of malt and earthy hops too. Like the smell, I felt the taste was lacking a little bit of depth and was pretty basic. At the end there was some more bitterness and a burnt caramel taste.
Light bodied although not what I would call thin. There is a fair bit of carbonation and bitter, almost burnt feeling finish.

The body on this one was too light and both the taste and smell were lacking, particularly considering the reputation of the brewery. I didn’t feel this was the best of beers to be introduced to the Adnams range and I am sure there are a lot better beers from them out there for me to hunt down.
