(BBE Nov 06) Dark coppery colored, cloudy appearance with little yellow head. Fruits, lemon, some soft bitterness and some licorice in aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor is stronger with obvious licorice and good caramelly fruitiness. Aftertaste could be longer with soft and slightly round bitterness. Some lemon also in aftertaste.

Bottle pours dark amber with a short creamy offwhite head that laces a little. Aromas of grassy hops over caramel and toasted malts. Flavor is toasted malts, caramel, some toffee, and slight grass on the finish. Medium body with slight carbonation and a touch of bitterness on the finish.

Consumed today..but with a 4/05 best by date. Not bad considering that. Found in the singles area in the cooler, that may have something to do with it. Pour is pale hazy copper with gentle hop nose. Light smooth body with subtle crispness expected from English bitter. A lasting head nearly to bottom of glass. A decent pint.

Shared this with Presario, Rob and Chinese Hercules on a New Year’s Day a couple of years ago. Not a fair rating to the beer but oxidized and more cardboard than beer.Page 12 of Micheal Jackson’s Great Beer Guide only 196 of 500 Classic Brews to go.

Beer has a mild bitterness, but is rather watery and light. Everything about this beer screams mild. It doesn’t take the chance of offending anybody with its flavor, resulting in a rather unremarkable product.

Pours amber with a white head. The aroma has a spciey hoppishness and a slight malty caramel hint. The flavor has a bit of a hoppishness and a slight caramel sweetness.
