Aroma is slightly hoppy and maybe some hints of fruit. the flavor had a small amount of bitterness to it, but the finish seemed to be missing something. this is not a bad brew by any means but somthing is lacking here. Nice dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Aug 8, 2006 A little too much malt in the aroma. Flavor is fairly nice. More bitter than most bitters or ESBs really. Head is okay. A nice beer but not on the same level as their Broadside Ale, probably because it comes off a little heavy. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Aug 8, 2006 Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber colour with an off-white head. Fruity aroma with some hints of hops. Malty fruity flavor with some hoppy hints. Going over in a bitter aftertaste. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Aug 4, 2006 Bottle 500ml. Dark amber colour with little white head. Aromas of the english hops and some fruitiness. The flavor is hops, toasted malt and nuts and some toffee that is soon overtaken by hoppy bitterness.
MrManning (1634), London, Ontario, Canada Jul 28, 2006 Bottle- Pours garnett into the chalice. Slightly off white foam builds and receeds without much thought. Moderate lace. Malty aroma (wood, nutty, caramel), with some burnt bread and hops. Bitter hoppy malt flavours, with off-dry toffee finishing, and leading back into slight bitterness. Perhaps a little overly carbonated for the style. Good.
