| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 21, 2004 Bottle, BB Nov 26 2004. Head is initially large, frothy/fizzy,
off-white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium amber. Aroma is lightly
malty (cookie, toasted bread), lightly hoppy (flowers, apricot), lightly
yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly
bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The flavor balance is
easily the best thing here...it just doesn’t have much aroma and what’s
there isn’t all that compelling. Bit of a yawner. lachesis (759), St Idesbald, Belgium

This beer has a dry taste with strong esther flavours that ends with a vegetal hoppy bitterness in the end. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

How many times had I passed this beer in the store before I finally picked one up?
Bottle
Pours a sincere golden / amber sunset of a body and a rich cap of white fluffy head. The aroma and flavor bring a thick dose of English hops… tons of caramel, butterscotch, apple, pear, plum and spruce wood feelings. A delicious buttery, mildly toasted bready-ess.. toasty and tart but it’s in all the right places. The palate is dense and fatty… dry and sticky. I really dig this ESB.. one of my new favorites for in this style! dirkules (613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Sep 25, 2004 amber in colour with a caramel and floral aroma. The smell is quite nice. Unfortunately the flavour is less immediate as the aroma. The taste is there initially, but ends up watery and a bit soapy. Not Good, not bad... sufficient. jefcon (998), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2004 Light, bright aromas of malt and hop. Rich reddish brown in the glass with a half inch of lasting tan head. The hops don’t come through in the flavors as well, however, and there’s some caramely confusion on the palate. Not an ESB that will rock you, that’s for sure, but good balance. It IS a crisp brew. tupalev (2611), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 20, 2004 Bottle. Dark Orange colour, decent sized white head. Slightly hoppy (floral) aroma. A nice hoppy bite right off the bat. Crisp, lively mouthfeel. More bitterness at the end. A classic bitter that’s a little more carbonated than most. A very enjoyable drinking experience.
