(BBE Nov 06) Dark coppery colored, cloudy appearance with little yellow head. Fruits, lemon, some soft bitterness and some licorice in aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor is stronger with obvious licorice and good caramelly fruitiness. Aftertaste could be longer with soft and slightly round bitterness. Some lemon also in aftertaste.

The aroma starts very, very strong and fades swiftly. Watery palate and thin flavour. Disappointing.

Huge offwhite head over chestnut brown body. Relatively light sweetish fruity aroma with notes of metal, wood, cinnamon, and pine needles. Taste is sweetish vinuous and somewhat watery with roasty wood and metal notes. It’s OK, but nothing very special. (0.5l bottle.)

Orange colour, small white head. Toffee, caramel, butter and grassy hops in aroma. Nutty caramel flavour, hints of fruit and toffee. Smooth finish. A bit thin, though.

Amber color, thin head. Aroma and flavor of malt and caramel, bitter finish. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Ordinary.

Pours a dark amber color with a medium thin beige head. Thin rings of lacing. Mild aroma of malt and caramel. Medium-bodied and really not very bitter for a Bitter. Fuggles hops, citrus and malt flavors are nicely balanced, leading to an understated character. The finish is lightly bitter, fruity and clean. Not really extraordinary, but I had no problems drinking it at all.

Bottle pours a very slightly hazy caramel, small fluffy white head, strong carbonation of tiny bubbles, with attractive lacing.   Light malts on the nose, even lighter malts on the tongue.   Minor hint of pears or apples.   Slightly bitter on finish.   Good body and mouthfeel.   I liked this much better than the Broadside.
