3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 ComradeK (728) - Blue Mountains, - OCT 31, 2010500ml bottle. Pours a clear red-amber, with a medium head. Smells like a classic bitter, with a whiff of citrus and some toffee malt notes. Moderate citrus and pine hops start it off, followed by lemon and honey, with a burnt caramel finish. A nice, complex, yet eminently drinkable bitter.

Purchased it at a mega Tesco shop in London. I did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would, little bit of a let down, but still a decent beer to drink.

Wow, this is retired? Another bitter bites the dust but I have full faith that the British brewing scene is livelier than ever and continues to blossom daily. Good thing cuz I’ve always been kinda down on British beers but I haven’t really had a large enough sample size to make any sort judgement. Bottles from spirit haus and the moan and dove in Amherst as part of the mug list. Bitter sour malt. That’s what I get from every bitter, even most today and definitely back at the Dove in 2005.

Bottled. Hazy amber, small creamy head, soft carbonation. Vague fruity aroma, maybe a whiff of malts. Flavor is nutty, toasted malts, caramel and only a touch of fruity British hops. Short finish, average Bitter.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 rarbring (650) - Linköping, SWEDEN - SEP 13, 2012
Aroma: The smell is a dash of sweet fruits, apricot, plum, some refreshing sour lemon and lime. Appearance: A copper-toned slightly hazy beer, an off-white head that leaves tons of lacing. Taste: The taste you meet is faintly sweet, saramel, some malty tones, digestive biscuits, in the sour area oranges and lemon, and finish of with a dry clean bitterness. Palate: Medium low carbonation, a creamy mouthfeel, a dry finish. Overall: This bitter is easy to drink, and more or less the one I most often have in stock. Note: Can 500 ml. Reviewed 2010-04-06.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Metalchopz (1741) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - APR 11, 2012
Originally rated October 2004. Sampled from their nice original 500ml brown bottle. Poured a beautiful amber-brown with orange highlights. The descant white head left an amazing amount of lacing. The nose was fruity with caramel malts, and hints of floral scents. Taste is hoppy, but not very bitter ??!?! Smooth mouthfeel with a dry finish. Some malt is in the taste too. I will try and seek more Adnams product, as I like this one.

Gift from SJ. A simple beer with some hop and caramel malt.
The finish had a mild honey, butterscotch and toast in it. It was nice.
