Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Name changed in early 2006 from "Adnams Bitter". Known before 2000 as "Adnams Southwold Bitter".
Was sold as "George Ale" for the George Inn in Southwark until 2007.
A classic cask bitter: the choice of a growing number of discerning licensees. Fragrant aromas of finest English hops and malt. Dry but refreshing, with a distinctive lingering bitterness. Appetising and delicious. Adnams bitter is a category champion.

cask @ The Wenlock Arms. Amber in colour with aromas of nectarine, flowers, and a bit of yeast. Flavors of slightly sweet citrus fruit, light caramel, and a touch of toasted almond. Fairly light bodied.

Draught at the Prince George, Parkholme Road, London E8. Octobr 2007. Really very insipid and watery - expect it was just a bad pint, sice I’ve had it before and it’s been ok. Will rerate in the ear future.

Nose is of fresh hops and malt. pours an amber beer. Mouthfeel is soft and taste is malty and quite bitter. Not bad as said re Broadside these beers are becoming ubiquitouis. Better this than Fosters I suppose.

Cask at the Seven Stars, London WC2. Copper coloured with a minimal head. Aroma of caramel with a touch of hay. The flavour also had a sweet edge before a moderate bitter finish. Ok.

Cask. Nutbrown in appearance, a touch hazy and a small frothy head. The aroma was somewhat insubstantial, perhaps mildly malty. The main flavour is of hops and this continues to the finish but there were roasted malt undertones to be found. Quite an average bitter but still moderately enjoyable. This would make an attractive session ale.

Cask Castle, Cambridge : Brown beer of little distinction. Sulphurous aroma, good bitterness. Little finish.
