Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Name changed in early 2006 from "Adnams Bitter". Known before 2000 as "Adnams Southwold Bitter".
Was sold as "George Ale" for the George Inn in Southwark until 2007.
A classic cask bitter: the choice of a growing number of discerning licensees. Fragrant aromas of finest English hops and malt. Dry but refreshing, with a distinctive lingering bitterness. Appetising and delicious. Adnams bitter is a category champion.

Had this pint in Binsey, England. Golden amber color, with a white head. Aroma was malty. Nice bitter flavor, with malt, hops, but was a little sharp. Finished bitter. Pretty good

Cask @ Bishop’s Arms, Malmö. Amber colour with no head. Some malty aroma with some fruitiness. A little sweet malty and fruity flavor. Smooth bitterness in the finish.

I liked the fact that it is really bitter, as it says in the label of the Cask. It is a little cloudy the head, and like foam.

Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Clear dark golden, topped with a white sheet. Vague sourish aroma of apple-skins and sulphur. Mineraly watery flavour of orange-peels and grains. Almost no body. Quite bitter aftertaste of apple-skins and oranges. Gloomy bitter.

Cask at The Bridge House and The George Inn, London
Dark amber color. Some malt aroma and taste, but not very strong. The bitterness is more respectable.

1. Cask Handpump at the Head Of Steam, Liverpool 21/02/2002 Amber golden coloured pale bitter with some malt and a slight bitterness and hop finish. 2. Cask Stillage at the Marine Hall, Fleetwood 15/02/2003 Very similar to above but with some sour fruit and dryness in the finish. 3. Cask Handpump at the Blue Cap, Sandiway 01/12/2008 Floral and malt aromas. Bronze golden smooth on the palate and slightly hoppy with a crisp and slightly bitter malt finish.

Had at down under pub with Micheal. Surprisingly smooth. Didn’t think I’d like it but I did. Very nice finish.

I had this on tap and it was okay. The malt tone and bitterness is here but nothing stands out. It definately has a dry character but doesn’t seem as creamy as other bitters.
