3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
I-need-to-get-rid-of-those-mediocre-beers tasting session. Chestnut coloured, small head. Malty nose, some caramel. Bittersweet flavour, quite one-dimensional though. Mediocre indeed.

slightly strong alcohol, missing gravity. Taste of caramel malt. missing finish. Does not matter that it is slightly warm.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Flaske fra Belgisk Bryg, serveringstemp. 13C.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled from the bottle in a greenhouse during a thunderstorm in the dark. The drink happened to fit the mood perfectly (though I wasn’t able to appreciate the appearance of the brew as much as I would have liked). Malts are caramel, with a slight metallic vibe, fruity and sweet but dark. A solid (though not fabulous) beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: old woods dark with time and earthen browns. Khaki head fades with bubbles of all sizes. Garnet and mahogany highlights along the edges. Swirls with a thick collar, no lace.
Nose: fresh and zippy, grabs the nose. Dark spices dapple about while dark fruits take center stage; raisins, plums with their sweet meat and bitter tannic skins. Cakey. Cinnamon, brown sugars, and molasses melt together. Fig newtons; meaty and cakey. Dry black tea leaves.
Palate: rich, frothy, and chewy. Faint banana notes; fresh, not green and soft to the touch. Overly ripe bananas flambéed with cinnamon, butter, maple and brown sugars. Raisins and plums moist, meaty, and tartly sweet. Honey glazed red apples. Cakey. Sticky lips. Moist breads infused with dark fruits, slathered in melted brown sugars and maple. Amazingly not cloying.
Final Thoughts: quite the beer to ponder over, I savored him far more than anticipated. A dark gold ale? What’s that? Not quite sure but it was darn tasty. Just enough of that lovely Belgium sweetness with dark fruits and spice to balance and parry.

"Scusi ma quelle sono tutte birre?" "Credo di sì" "Anche quella con quel signore raffigurato?" "Ora gliela prendo e ci guardo" . Lo era.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from 330 ml bottle.
Clear, sparkling, orange-red brown with an enormous head if cream-colored, creamy foam that settles slowly to leave very nice lacing.
Aroma of dark bread malt, yeast, toffee, honey, grape, plum and raisin.
Taste of sweet dark malt, molasses, toffee, prunes, red wine grapes, tropical fruit and a touch of clove. Sweet, fruity and malty, but with enough complexity to keep your interest.
Medium/full body and medium carbonation.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma of typical Belgian dark fruit. Pours light brown with lots of carbonation. Taste is crisp with a bite of ginger and dark fruits. Tasty and clean. The carbonation adds an interesting touch.
