Bart (2938) - Brussels, BELGIUM - JUN 21, 2008
Darker brown coloured beer with rather little carbonation and a small off-white head. Not much aroma, some light malty touches. Full palate, with some clear sprankling. Finish is light bitter, malty with some sweeter touches near the end. Rather short ending. Not bad, but nothing special either.

Nut brown beer, creamy beige head. Nose is caramel, dried fruits, malt, toasty notes. Flavor is fruity, malty-toasty notes, sugar, fruity tones and metallic hints, yeast in the background, some sweetness. Alcohol and dried fruit in the finish. Prickly carbonation. Simple, but balanced.

Embrouille (2843) - SWITZERLAND - JUL 19, 2010
Bottled 33cl. Ordered from www.bierzwerg.de. The nose is remarkably inviting where notes of coconut, plum, pear, apple, candy sugar and lovely malt show up. Low bitterness. The plum components are rather pronounced in the taste. Full bodied. Very low bitterness. Relatively strong carbonation. A nice belgian strong ale.

Poured from 330 ml bottle. Clear, sparkling, orange-red brown with an enormous head if cream-colored, creamy foam that settles slowly to leave very nice lacing. Aroma of dark bread malt, yeast, toffee, honey, grape, plum and raisin. Taste of sweet dark malt, molasses, toffee, prunes, red wine grapes, tropical fruit and a touch of clove. Sweet, fruity and malty, but with enough complexity to keep your interest. Medium/full body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Not bad, it’s getting some poor rating, but I enjoyed it. Definite notes of bread, dark fruits such as rasins and prune. Toffee sweet finish with honey, I do detect that meattalic taste that others are complaining about. For me, that is the only downside.

glennmastrange (2682) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JUL 15, 2010
Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of cereal and milk chocolate, light to moderate herbs and cooked orange for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with hints of raisin, port wine and cola. Head is large, fizzy, light brown, with no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is clear dark mahogany. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and bitter and moderately acidic. Palate is medium, oily with a fizzy carbonation. A nice malt presence with good hop and yeast aromas makes this a pretty good Belgian Strong Ale.
