Thanks to blutt59 for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a red-amber color with an off-white head. The aroma is toffee with a little bit of tartness. I am not sure if the tartness is supposed to be in the beer or not, since I drank a sour beer prior to this. The flavor is toffee, dark fruit and Belgian yeast. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

(750ml bottle thanks to blutt59) clear dark brown with tons of lacing and off-white head. Nose of light fruit, plum, and toasty malt. Taste of light smoke, toasted grain, strawberry jam, butter, with a spicy cola-like finish.

Bottle - 750mL corked and caged from the Rare Beer Club. Dark amber to brown pour with a tall, beige head. Aroma is yeasty and fruity with sweet malts, candi sugar and light flowery notes. Taste is slightly tart fruit, light cocoa, dusty yeast, fresh flowers, candi sugar, sweet malt, and a hint of toasted malt and honey. Body is medium and rather carbonated and bubbly. Ends with more toasty and sweet malt, lighter candi sugar, a touch of bitterness, dark fruit, and cocoa.

330 ml stubby bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. ABV is 8.5%. Brown colour, huge beige head. High (too high) level of carbonation, even in the mouth. Fairly strong aroma, very much a "typical Belgian dubbel": notes of brown malts, caramel, brown kandij sugar and mild spices. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, but is not too sweet. The hops are very moderate, I’d like some more. Still a decent and drinkable beer as it is.

FROTHINGSLOSH (5039) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 27, 2011
Sampled from a 750 ml corked brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with a large foamy tan head that faded quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma was port wine, tart cherries, a bit of vinegar, wood and malted milk. The flavor was oddly spicy with notes of tart cherries, wood, sourdough bread, vanilla and malted milk. The finish was long with tart cherry, wood and vague spices lingering. Medium body and a bit overcarbonated. Interesting.
