Black William Stout (5% ABV.) is a rich black colour with a creamy head. Powered by Target hops, it is in the middle of the bitterness scale and contains a very high proportion of chocolate malt that contributes to the dark chocolate aroma and roasted flavours.

Bottle at JF’s (from Hogsback shop) 28/10/12. Mid black with a thin tan head that soon clears to the edge fo the glass. Big roast malt nose, coffee, barley, backnote of hops. Tastes of roast malts, liqourice, a little chocolate. Medium bodied, slightly spritzy carbonation, a little too much for me.

Cask at GBBF 2010. A black beer with no head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt as well as a bit of caramel. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, leading to a dry roasted finish. The body is light.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2010. Black lasting tan head. Soft. Roast stout flavour. A little dry and some ash. Bit too ash dry for me but a good beer.

Cask Handpump at the GBBF, Earl’s Court 04/08/2010 Fruity aroma. Dark coloured with a little sour fruit flavour. A hint of dryness in a bitter roast finish.

DIBBLE (102) - Worthing, West Sussex, ENGLAND - APR 6, 2015
Big aroma of roast malt and cocoa. Minimal to nonexistent tan head over dark reddish brown beer. Full balanced flavour. Not overly complex but delivers a huge hit of roast maltiness with an earthy, leathery yet sweet, cocoa finish.
