Cask at GBBF 2010. A black beer with no head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt as well as a bit of caramel. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, leading to a dry roasted finish. The body is light.

Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, light licorice. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, licorice. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100804]

Cask gravity at GBBF 2010. Black lasting tan head. Soft. Roast stout flavour. A little dry and some ash. Bit too ash dry for me but a good beer.

(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 4 Aug 2010) Black colour with frothy, pale brown head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of dark chocolate and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with dark chocolate, coffee, liquorice, blueberries and a creamy, dry finish with a generous coffee bitterness. Slightly above medium body, well rounded mouthfeel. Excellent stout.

Fruity aroma. Dark coloured with a little sour fruit flavour. A hint of dryness in a bitter roast finish.

Cask@GBBF2010. Quite much pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, some dark dry fruityness as well as spices and mild toasted notes. Flavour is liquorice, roasted malts, some dark dry fruits as well as some mild caramel malts.

15 Excellent gimmick-free stout. Flawless.

Cask handpump at GBBF ’10. Near black. Ashy aroma. Pear drop, ripe plum and ash in taste. Sharp bitter finish. Some interest here.
