COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While for the classic "Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier" traditionally beech has been - and still is - used, the malt for "Schlenkerla Oak Smoke" is kilned with Oak wood. The resulting Schlenkerla Oak Smoke Malt has a smoother and more multi layered smoky note than the intensely aromatic Beech Smoke Malt. The hence complex smokiness in the "Schlenkerla Oak Smoke" is paired with the multifaceted bitterness of finest Hallertau aroma hops. With 8% alcohol and amber color it matures for months in the deep brewery cellars underneath Bamberg into a special treat for smoke beer lovers. www.Smokebeer.com

Thoroughly enjoyed from a 16.9oz bottle in a wine glass. The beer pours a deep brown color, with a moderate light brown head. Wondrous notes of smoked meats and German character malt come through in the nose; an intoxicated array of bacon, raisons, caramelized brown sugar, and just a touch of wood. The palate replicates many of the aromas, showing a deep and rich smoke note, followed by a nice but not over-the-top amount of malt depth and complexity. Again, oak shows through, but only slightly, adding to the painting, rather than completely covering the canvas. The finish leaves a lingering note of smoke. Overall, an outstanding beer, by any measurement.

Tap. Pours deep amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of smoke, caramel and wood. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carb. An awesome smoked.

Flaske 0,5 liter, Smagt hos Lars, god røget smag, bære dog nag af noget pølse af en art, dufter godt, men mangler lidt i smagen.

From bottle. Nice, luminescent amber brown. Small white head. Big charcoal nose. Lots of smoke. Some ash. Smells kind of like the shirt you wore next to a campfire when you smell it the next day. Taste is ash and smoke forward. Some basic maltiness. A small hint of caramel sweetness. Very interesting. Could not see myself throwing back a couple of these.

On tap at Tröls. A smoke and spicebomb this is a beer that’s packing a sensoric punch, not really my cup of tea though.

Smoketastic! Rich smokey malt aroma and taste with a smooth, lightly sweet finish. Would be great on ribs.

500ml bottle. Pours a brown, red color, with a thin lacy head of white cream. Aroma is the peaty earthy smoke. Flavors are lightly sweet, earthy, and a tangy smoke. Complex and rich in character.

Dark golden brown small tan head. Aroma of wood malt and a hint of smoke. Flavor is sweet and smokey. Not that familiar oak smoke but more emphasis on the smoke. Reminiscent of bacon. Long sweet finish, smoke lingers but a a hint. Mostly malty finish. Fun tasty beer.
