What a great brew. Redlight Redlight - tap. I couldn’t wait to try this one. Aromas consist of pulled pork with some light bread and campfire notes. This one was a clear brown with an off-white head...I think...it was sorta dark in RR. The taste was amazing. Solid smoky notes of BBQ with some crisp bready notes. This one was perfectly balanced and drinkable as hell with the smokiness not being overpowering at all.

On tap @ Redlight - pours a dark red/brown with a white head. Aroma is upfront smoke, as is taste with a great malty and light bitter finish. Solid rauchbier that I would definitely drink agin.

Draft at Monks. Poured a dark amber reddish brown with a pillowy white head. Noticeable smokey aroma, though the smokey taste is much milder than expected. Smoothly blends with the dark malt. Woody. Charcoal. Leather. Slight sweetness is present that balances the heavier flavors quite well. The overall effect though is quite mild. Would be a good place to start for drinkers wanting to try, but a bit scared of, rauchbiers.

What a find here in FL! Also on tap! The scent was full of roasted malts and ham with some charcoal in the mix. For a smoked beer, the meaty flavors were light and acceptable among the robust malt character. I could get into smoked beers if there were more like this.

I don’t think you can get a better rauchbier. Nice bar-b-q aroma. Pleasant smokey taste that is not too faint and not too overpowering. Thanks, Redlight Redlight for bringing this one in.

Enjoyed due to hawkeye tap-spotting from a friend. Thanks, Tom!
Dark, cloudy, red-brown pour with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is deeply toasted bread, nice caramel, and layers of inviting wood-smoke.
Taste is lightly sweet with smoked almonds, brown sugar, and cured meat notes. Very well balanced, the smoke does not overpower. Medium body, lightly creamy texture, and ample but soft carbonation. Only a hint of phenol in finish. Very drinkable. I was a bit skeptical when I noticed some of the other reviews referring to this beer as being very clear in appearance. Any doubts were dispelled as I enjoyed this lovely, whole, unfiltered gem.

Draught. Rootbeer-float-foamy head persists for ten minutes with creamy lacing over an dark amber body. Aroma is umami, smoke, and produce. Taste is umami and bitter. Palate is light and creamy with fine and lively carbonation. Excellent rauchbier

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Enjoyed on tap at Aecht Schlenkerla in Bamberg, Germany. Appearance is a very murky dark brown, rich off white head. Aroma a hint of smoke, subtle bacon aroma, yeast as well, unique. Taste is a very heavy body, no carbonation, not too rich but is just thick. Smoke flavor is subdued, like a less-smokey but thicker rauchbier. Not bad but i prefer my previous brew.

Murky, cloudy toffee colored pour. Big tan head that leaves plenty of lacing behind the slow fall. Nice smoky aroma with malt and nuts mixed in. Not as smoky as their bottled offerings. Smoky and malty flavor. Nice, very nice.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
