Aroma is a chimney in the wintertime. Taste is an amber beer with a hint of smoked sausage.

Black brown colour. Smell of a smoke, roasted malts. Taste is for me unusual, namely I need almost half a bottle to get used of it. But is still strange for me because of strong presence of smoked pork in aftertaste.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours unclear dark caramel amber with a nice beige head. Aroma is so smooth, bringing some barbecue, tobacco and sebago docksider, and pig. The flavor brings some smoky barbecue, not burnt or roasted at all, with some woody campfire notes and a smooth body that allows it to be so easy on the palate to drink. You can tell how pure it is in the creamy body.

Got the Chimay glass out today, so why not? This beer is as close as a vegetarian like myself gets to eating a bratwurst... very meaty aroma and taste indeed. Not my favorite style at all, but I would bet that this is the ultimate example.

Keg at Our Black Heart, Camden. Mid- to dark brown, translucent. Caramel and oak smoke dominate the light aroma. Taste is sweet and fruity, with almost a Christmas cake note. Finishes more bitter with a smoky aftertaste. Extremely good.

16.9 oz bottle. Clear brown with a spongy beige head. Nose is smoked sausage, light malt and wood. Creamy medium body with a lingering buzz; kind of refreshing. Taste is plum, cola, faint wood and hints of smoke. Highly drinkable with perfect smokiness.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours slightly hazy brown. Aroma is meaty, mostly smoked ham and salami. Taste is smoky, less meaty than nose but still smoked ham. Bready malts and hops as well and good balance, however, I still cannot get much more than smoke related notes in these smoked beers.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown beer with a huge beige foam. Very strong smoky aroma. A bit watery body. Nice balanced bitterness and sweetness. Quite strong hops for this kind of a beer. A really good one. Easy to drink yet very tasty.

Lovely unexpected treat on draft in Brewdog Liverpool , rounded flavours not overpowered by the smokiness. Can’t wait for our summer trip to Bamberg

Delicate smoked aroma, plus salami. Flavor starts sweet, more smoke, moderate bitter finish.
