Jun 18, 2008 Golden colored beneath a tight white head. Biscuit like doughy malt aroma. Crisp clean malt flavors with hints of smoke in the background and just a touch of lemony hops in the finish. Quite nice.

Jun 16, 2008 Updated: Jun 28, 2008(German) Bottle shared by the Knights. Pours a golden yellow with a sm-white head. There is a slight skunky aroma to this brew, but the taste is of smoked meat, with a dry finish. Not bad, but i don’t think i could drink a few of these back to back.

Jun 16, 2008 Another shared with the Dev-Knights. Pale gold pour with a white head. A light grain aroma with the smoked body kind of at the back end, not overpowering. Some complexities but overall refreshing and rather light, no real bitterness at all.

Jun 15, 2008 Bottle shared with the Devonshire guys. Pours gold in color with a white head. Smells very doughy. Taste is standard helles lager with a side of smoke. The flavors don’t blend, you can easily pick them apart. Nice, easy drinker.

Jun 8, 2008 My notes after 13 beers is "Tastes like natty". hah. well although it wasnt that flavorless, it doesn’t exactly live up to its counterparts. I’m sure there is some smoked flavors, i just couldnt pick them up.

Jun 7, 2008 500 ml bottle courtesy of SoLan. Pours a translucent gold color witha big white head that had good retention. The aroma is light with semi-sweet malted grains and light smoke. The flavor is that of a good lager with with a light smoke accent. The mouthfeel is a bit on the light side but still very nice for a lager. The finish is short and dry. Overall: A very enjoyable smoked lager, and one that should pair well with a great deal of BBQ’d food. Thanks Solan.

Jun 7, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow to orange with a dense, huge and white head. Mild bitterhops and faint smoke aroma. Mild creamy mouthfeel. Nice cornish medium sweet flavour and light hoppy bitterness lurking through. Dry almost wooden finish with a slowly building bitterness.

Jun 6, 2008 so i wasnt much a fan of this smoked beer. It was my first introduction to smoked beers, and this one just didnt do it for me. Its a strange taste to add to a beer. It poured a light yellow/orange, with no head and no sediment. Its aroma was defined mainly by the smoked characteristic. The flavor was very mild, not much flavor at all. Bit of a skunked flavor though. The palate was light, no body.
