Light smoke aromas with faint earthy citrus-like tones. Soft nutty earth and smoke flavors play out from start to finish. Thin, watery, with soft carbonation. A big disappointment when compared to the Urbock… JK (2949), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2008 Mild smoke aroma. Gold color with some haze. The smoke is very light, which makes sense from the way it is made, but what is there is good in the aroma and flavor. zeke626 (302), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 29, 2008 Bottle, pours a pale yellow with white head. Aroma of light smoke, maybe sausage. Not much to the flavor - mostly malts with a smoked meat overtone. Light bodied with a fizzy mouthfeel. vyvvy (2034), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 27, 2008 This was tons better than I was expecting. Pours hazy yellow with a light white head. The aroma thankfully only has a hint of smoke ~ it is mostly helles-like with pale malt, some corn and cream. Medium body with some underscored sharp, but gentle, carbonation. The flavor starts very helles with good solid maltiness, some spicy lightly grassy hops, some graininess and gentle smoke. A bit more smoke comes out on the finish, but nothing that ruins the beer for me. OSLO (826), Perth, Australia
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 27, 2008 [Bottle] Pours pale golden with a small white head. Aroma is mildly smoky--the most subdued of the AS beers that I’ve had, although this makes sense since I see that it is just smoke residue. Taste is boring, somewhat unpleasant sweet malt with the smoke most evident in the finish. Thin mouthfeel but the finish is pretty long. I really did not care for the taste or mouthfeel of this beer. rocbyter (912), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 24, 2008 Average good lager aroma with the usual amount of yeast and a slight amount of roastedness. Hazy golden color with not much white foam. Mild beginning with a yeast and very tangy finish. Light body. JonR888710 (999), Cochabamba, Bolivia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 16, 2008 Pours a golden-brown, with a cottony white head. smells like lager, a little richer than average. Taste is bold for a lager, with a little banana and spicy hops. Dry ending, tingles tongue. Its subtle, the difference between this beer and other lagers, say Heineken. But its good in every way. drewbeerme (2272), Chicago, Illinois, USA
