4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500 ml bottle from BG Birra, served in a goblet glass. Beautiful rich gold, perfectly clear, with a creamy, persistent bright white head. Looks gorgeous. On the nose bready malts, light yeast, mild herbal hoppyness, a hint of wet cardboard in the far background. So smooth and clean in the mouth, much more bitter than expected upfront, but then an almost light sugary sweetness follows. Solid malty base, pleasent herbal hoppy punch, and just a tiny smokey/ashy sensation in the aftertaste, mainly coating the lips. Ridicously drinkable. Average to lively carbonation, medum body, slightly creamy texture. Stunning.

Very energetic little beer. Clear and quite a long-lasting head. Very very slight smoke taste.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Soft Helles like aroma. Body is a hazy straw yellow with lots of fine sediment floating around. Sweet Helles taste is on top of the famous smokebeer taste of its brethren beer but in a much subtler. Sense some sweet caramel tasting malts too. Leaves a sweet aftertaste with a touch of smokiness.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Appellation Wines.
Appearance - golden with a proportionate head. Nice.
Nose - subtle smoke and citrus.
Taste - citrus and herbs up front and then wood smoke in the background
Palate - light bodied with a dry smoky texture and a balanced dry finish.
Overall - the smoke grows in a gradual way and it’s adding complexity.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Faint whiff and taste of smoke is lovely. Good bitterness with a touch of coppery tang and bitterness at the end. Pale sparkling gold. And light and fresh mouth feel. A variation on lager well worth trying

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Golden bubbly body and bubbly yet quite stable head. Classic yet very nice lager aroma, classically hopped, and a very faint butter but that supports the body and is far from an off flavour here. But I say don’t smell, drink, because the palate is wonderful, and the bitterness juicy. Again a very small butter taste, but it gives a rich mouthfeel. It seems to come from the smoke. Excellent body, but overall a bit too odd perhaps to really raise the numbers. (50cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Great Grog. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Lively carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of rhubarb, sliced pear, grass and white bread. Flavour of lightly smoked malt, apple pie and a finish of lightly smoked cheese. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily mouthfeel. Light fizz. Certainly one of the most unique Lagers I’ve ever tried.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft pour at GBD. Poured a clear pale yellow color with a small, white head. Aroma was some light campfire, meaty notes. Light smoke. Flavor was nice light lager character, sweetness, and a little smoke. Not bad.
