Jul 9, 2008 Golden with a big, nice and creamy head. The aroma has weak notes of smoke, light flower and malt. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of flower, light citrus, light malt and it’s smooth and pleasant. I only find the smoke in the aroma.

Feb 14, 2008 Bottle. Pours a slightly pale golden colour with a big well lasting white head. Aroma of grains, some malt and cow stable. The flavour is smoky with cow stable, malt, bitter hops and a soft sweetness.

Mar 26, 2003 Strong smokey aroma. Typical smoked ham flavor. Hoppy and absolutely dry with a hint of maltiness and some hidden fruitiness. Long burnt wood finish. A classic!

Jan 21, 2007 A Mes rate: 50cl bottle from Quinns. Hardly a patch on their full on Rauchbiers but it still has that trademark smokeyness although here it is very faint. Still even a hint of that Schlenkerla flavour makes for something that is at the very worst enjoyable.

Jan 25, 2007 Very pale yellow with a good charcoal white head. Aroma is malty with strong tones of smoke. I’m not the biggest fan of smoked, but this seems okay. Very nice mouthfeel. Then I remembered why I did not like smoked... Too much of it again - powerful aftertaste, drowning out an initial malty sweetness.

Sep 12, 2008 (50cl bottle, courtesy of blutt59) Pours a pale yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of fireworks smoke, butterscotch, and hot melting plastic. Flavor of lightly smoked meat and some grassiness with a watery mouthfeel.

Sep 2, 2006 Bottle acquired in trade with The_Beer_God. This one was hard for me to nail down. It was all over the board as far as rating the categories. It poured a light golden color with a large sized white head. Looks like a Pale Lager. Then came the nice aromas of strong smoked meat, pepperoni, pork, beef jerky and had a refried bean aroma. The tastes were thin and almost non-existent with tastes of light smoke and a generic light sweetness. The tastes did not live up to the aromas.
