A very nice drinking rauchbier. Goes down smooth. ABV is low so it is very drinkable.

Solid smoke nose...light tawny color. Decent off white head with good lacing. Nice light sweetness from the malt, but thin. Almost a lighter version of the marzen.

Hazy golden amber pour with an awesome foamy white head. Smoked bacon, hints of gorgonzola, and soft doughy campfire lead to bready smoked hickory jerky and hints of banana. medium body with supple caressing carbonation and a clean finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Brass Tap (Wesley Chapel, FL). Pours a clear golden amber color with a decent sized densely packed off white head. Aroma has a good bit of smokiness, but still on the lighter side when compared to other Aecht Schlenkerla beers. Flavor is quite nice with more subdued smokiness.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Holy Grale. Aroma of dough, banana, clove and very light smoke. Appearance is light amber with bone head. Flavor matches the nose; quite fruity up front, but with a light meaty smoke finish- a bit more substantial than the aroma. Palate is bubbly. Reminds me a bit of their smoked weizen, but with a bit more fruit; quite nice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
transparent gold , thin white bubbled head. Nose is light smoke, bark, peach, bit of tea: light and refreshing but not intense or coherent. Flavor of mire bark and light smoke, carbonation seems high, finish is short and doughy, not getting the hops others find, low smoke throughout but lingering in finish. Decent but unfocused, too light for a smoked for me.
