COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Daten:
Stammwürze 11,7%
Alkohol 4,5%
Bittere 30

Ausschank:
Im Brauereiausschank vom Holzfass ab 1. Juni bis Ende August. Export in die USA.

English Translation:
"Kräusen" describes the bubbles that form during the fermentation of green (young) beer. The addition of a small amount of such green beer to an already mature beer is called "Kräusening". Kräusening adds the full flavor maturity of the stored beer to the liveliness of the green beer that is added.

Schlenkerla Kräusen is an amber, unfiltered lager with a slight smoky taste. It ripens in the deep tunnels under Bamberg until just before adding the classic Schlenkerla smoked beer. Tasty and not too much alcohol, it is the perfect refreshment for a warm season.
Data:
Original gravity 11.7%
Alcohol 4.5%
Bitter 30

Serving:
In the brewery from the keg from 1 June to late August. Exports to the United States.

Pours murky amber, no head. Sweet, smokey, mild. Smokiness is less pronounced than odor would have you believe. Bit of a disappointment, but still a decent beer. Just too mild.

Wooden barrel dispense at GBBF ’14, day 2, 13/08/14. Clear golden with a moderately appointed white head. Nose is bready, spice, smoke, more bread focussed than other Schlenkerla beers. Taste comprises smoked malt - fair subtle, bready, light gammon, spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a smokey linger. Decent rausch.

GBBF Day 2. Keg. Thanks to Harrisoni for the share. Almost clear gold - amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is light and dry. Mild fine carbonation. Light dry creamy malts. Well integrated white smoke, not overpowering. Whisper of marmalade. Light and very dry finish. Not bad.

Tap at Taphouse, Cph. Smokey and green-plants like aroma. Taste is also 'green' like in chopping some if that green stuff in the garden and maybe taste some of it... Round soft mouthfeel, slightly hazy golden. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smokey lager with quite an oily body and a musty cereal grain density. Taste is smokey, grain must, meaty smokey sausage and bacon, wood smoke, sweet malt, and some grassy hay and herby. Mixture of smokiness, malt sweetness and grassy hops, with an oily body.

Plastic-coated barrel (only wooden look-alike) @ GBBF 2014. Smooth mild beginning, fresh and easy to drink. Not too much smoke here, quite smooth and mild. The body is malty-sweetish, nice round smoke. The aftertaste is smooth malty sweetness, moderate bitterness and nice balanced smoke! Great!
