like liquid jerky and I mean that as a compliment. Probably wouldn’t want to have more than 1L of this at any one time because the flavor is a bit strong, but I felt it a great sitting beer.

Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of smoke and wood. Nice sweetness. Solid.

Bottle into pint glass. Pours a great dark ruby red with a very light creamy tan head. Though it is dark. It is crystal clear with no visible carbonation. It has a potent smoky aroma, like smoked red meat -- although I know this sounds gross, it is actually quite pleasant with its roasty malt and oak aroma. The flavor is strange; definitely dominated by wood smoke and roasted malt with an almost metallic undertone. The flavor is weird because it is potent but at the same time pretty subtle, because of the brew’s very light and watery mouth feel. The is no hint of alcohol on the flavor. It is smooth on the palate with its light body and lack of carbonation – pretty unlike any other mouth feel I have encountered in a beer. Overall – a unique experience, but not exactly my thing. Definitely worth trying though.

Bought a whole case of this, and I cook with it as much as drink it straight... extremely smooth smoke, some malty backbone and relatively subtle bitterness.

This amber ale poured with a decent tan head and an aroma like a brush fire. The flavor is unmistakeably charred wood with a substantial malt base. In spite of the smoke, this is actually an enjoyable drink, but not for mass consumption.

500 ml bottle. Pours a deep reddish-brown with a low tan head. Very smoky aroma with some dark malts. The flavor has plenty of smoke, cured wood and sweet dark malts, with pleasant bitterness.
