Nice in the fact that it is first and foremost a smoked beer, and a marzen close behind which suits the smokiness. Gives it a refreshing edge, compared to most of the more stouty smoked beer I’ve tried. A light mouthfeel but suitable. Heavy smoke aromas and flavours; hickory wood chips. Small unobtrusive touch of cured deli meat; perhaps salami. Notes of leather. A great accompaniment for Oktoberfest fare and/or heavy deli sandwiches (ie: smoked blue cheese and all-out spicy salami. Or a classic Limburger and fried onion sandwich. Damn. Now there’s an idea!)

Marroncina, schiuma chiara che svanisce subito.
Affumicata già al naso, in bocca risulta poco carbonata, amara e affumicata.

Dark beer that appears almost black. Against the light you see a dark red glow. Smell is metallic. Taste is malty smoke but also refreshing.

Bottle at Craven Arms, dark brown pour with beige head, smokey bacon crisp aroma, smoked ham taste like your finest charcuterie, very pleasant.

50 cl bottle. Very smoky aroma with some wood notes. Flavor is nicely smokey and long.The carbonation is balanced well. It is also malty. Bitterness shows after smoke is gone Feel in the mouth is nice and smooth. Excellent brew.

Odeur noisette. Goût Fumé, noisette, bacon, vraiment unique. Arrière goût très doux. Sucre timide, peu d’Amertume, bonne bière de relaxation après le repas.

Draft. Classical rauchbier from Bamberg. Smoked bacon in aroma and taste, very rich smoked malt, uncompromising smoked!

500ml bottle. Aroma is bacons, caramel, roasted meat, nuts. Appearance is ver dark black with a niche brown-ish head. Tase is light sweet and some bitterness. A little bit sour. Has a light watery mouthfeel and not much texture. Soft carbonation. An overall very good Smoked Beer.

Pours a dark amber with a huge, tan head. Aromas of charcoal, sausage, and a bit bready. The smoked malts are the flavor, leaving behind a long, charcoal and BBQ sauce finish. Medium bodied beer with a sticky mouthfeel. This beer is highly recommended for a beautiful autumn day by the grill.
