2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: MAY 1, 2012 Bottle. Poured a clear medium brown with an average sized (1-2 finger) off-white creamy head that was mostly lasting and had fair lacing.
The aroma was of a heavy smoked malt, a very light bitter hop and a moldy leathery yeast with a heavy note of smoke and meat (like a smoked ham).
It tasted a little acidic and mildly malty and a little bitter with an intense smoky flavor from start to finish. The flavor lasted an extremely long time and all I could taste was the liquid smoke that was left behind on the taste buds.
Mouthfeel was about half way to medium in body with a watery yet creamy texture and a soft carbonation.
Overall a very different brew than what I am used to, it was kind of like drinking liquid smoke straight out of the bottle. I have had other Smoked Beers but none this intense. Needless to say, not all beers are for everyone and this one is definitely not for me!!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap. Pours clear mahogany with creamy beige head. Aroma has loads of meaty smoke, dry oak, bacon, sweet bready malts, some toast and slight salmiak. Sweet toasty malts, bread, then turns really smoky, dry oak, bacon, fat meaty body and slight toasty crisp finish. Long lasting smoke. Just a classic!

Aroma of sweetish malts, lots of smoked ham, caramel. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a light bittersweet finish. Like most of the others from this brewery, a very good Smoked beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark cola-like brown with a huge, fluffy head. Nose is heady and strong like a cooler full of smoked meats. Taste is malty sweet and the smokiness comes through the nose and you'd swear you just had a bite of a smoked brisket sandwich. I didn't think I'd like this. I didn't care for their Urbock, but this is very nice and would pair marvelously with barbecue.

Bottle, 50 cl, from Fränky, Fürth. Without doubt smokey features, hints of a smoked sausage. From start, when opening the bottle. Balanced, though.
