Dark brown pour. Tan moderate head that stays. Smells like a sweet smoked roast hot dog. Tastes like smoked hot dogs. Watery mouthfeel a little sweetness thickening it, but it finishes quite dry. Wet hops flavor refreshing yet very hearty at the same time. Impressive.

Pours dark reddish brown with off-white frothy head. Good lacing once settled. Aroma is oaky, smoked sausage, dark malt. Taste is nice and smokey, woody and meaty too, but a little sweet also. Finish is dry and the smoke really stays. Lovely smokebeer, quite a heavyweight too.

Bottle at Sybarite Pig. Tulip. Pours dark brown, nearly opaque. Medium off-white head. Great lacing. Aroma of a campfire grilling hot dogs. The taste is the smokiest rauchbier I’ve ever had. Wow! Serious smoked meat (cured sausages) is very dominant.

50cl bottle. Easy drinkable beer despite the smokeyness and the dark brown color. Body is thin and mauthfeel is dry. Lightly hoppy and smoky nose. Palate is pleasant with a strong smoked finish. Great beer for a summer BBQ!

If smoke is what you want this is where to get it. Very assertive smoked bacon/ham flavor. Smells like a BBQ, tastes the same. You either like Rachbiers or you don't. However the Marzen is much more balanced and enjoyable.

UPDATED: JUN 15, 2013 Rating: 4/5 = Sex in my mouth - need I say more!!!. -This is an amazing beer! Instant aroma of wood smoke upon pour. Reminds me of a campfire just as the last embers are still ablaze. Fluffy ivory head, almost creamy like raw milk. Jet black liquid. Tons of lacing. Not quite smoked meat, but very strong and unique smoke quality. Amazing sensations. Slightly saltly upon kissing the tounge, but quickly faded. Reminds me of a porter. Zero smoke taste in my mouth. Also zero hop bitter. Creamy on the palate, just amazing. Very clean taste. Oddly - the finish reminds me of bacon (just a tad). Again, this is an amazing beer, what an experience. Wouldja - Hell Yes!!
