COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schlenkerla Smokebeer Wheat is an ale with light smoky aroma. As Bavarian wheat beers, it is being brewed with a mixture of both barley malt and wheat malt. The portion of barley malt is hereby a classic Schlenkerla smokemalt, while the wheat malt remains unsmoked. Served unfiltered with its natural haziness, Schlenkerla Wheat reaches its full aroma through bottle fermentation with fine top fermenting yeast.

500ml bottle. Pours hazy brown with a big, beige head. Smoky and very malty aroma with notes of wheat. Flavor is similar a perfect blend of smokiness and weizen beer flavors, with nice dry aftertaste. Medium body, very soft mouthfeel, very drinkable. Very well balanced smoked weizen. Very good, although not as good as Aecht Schlenkerla Eiche Doppelbock.

In short: a tasty and spicy smoky beer.
Pours murky copper, with nice off white head. Some head retention, poor lacing. Smoky, liquorice, caramel, ripe fruit aromas. Medium body, viscous texture, soft to average carbonation. Taste is kind of sweet, ripe fruit, some caramel, tons of smoky flavours, some sparkling notes. Amazingly well balanced (for a smoked one, of course) even smooth. Kind of tart aftertaste. Peculiar and enjoyable.

UPDATED: JAN 28, 2014 Uklar brun, fizzy skum, hurtigt væk igen. Røget aroma. Smagen let røget, lidt gær, hvede. Velafbalanceret. Let carb, frisk frugtig og tør eftersmag. Tak for den, MiP!

50 cL bottle at home. Pours hazy amber with a vast off-white head. Aroma is typical weizen with some banana and yeast and a very soft smoked note. Taste has some smoke, wheat, banana, yeast and a soft to medium bitter finish. Slightly lingering smoke. Medium body and carbo. Quite nice and well balanced.

500 ml bottle. Pours a murky and sediments-filled orangeish brown with a resilient white-beige head. Aroma is smoke, spices, bananas. Flavor is smoke, meat, bananas, cloves, wheatish, sweet. Finish is very smokey and salty, mineral. Lingering umami and smoke. Medium body, strong carbonation, very prickly. Unexpected mix, yet very interesting.

Pours dark hazy brown, in smokiness in aroma with (I cant help myself but bacon ;-)) In taste it is nice weizen with nice acidity and of course the smokiness. When I try to be objective I think it is a good beer but subjectively for me the combination of weizen and smoked malt is a bit harder to drink.

The head is good, the body dark. It smells a bit smoky, wheat, malty. The taste is smoky, wheat, malty, bit hoppy, yeasty, nice. Nice taste but not the most easiest drinkable one from Heller

500ml bottle from Berlin Bier Shop. Pours a deep dark brown with a quickly vanishing head. Has a slight sweetness that raises the earthy aspects to a smooth drinkable level. Smoky character refuses to dominate, instead just drifting through. Unexpectedly delicious, will definitely search out some more of this stuff.
