Schlenkerla Smokebeer Wheat is an ale with light smoky aroma. As Bavarian wheat beers, it is being brewed with a mixture of both barley malt and wheat malt. The portion of barley malt is hereby a classic Schlenkerla smokemalt, while the wheat malt remains unsmoked. Served unfiltered with its natural haziness, Schlenkerla Wheat reaches its full aroma through bottle fermentation with fine top fermenting yeast.

Bottled - Very nice smoked cheese and smoked ham aromas with a spicy, wheaty base. Cloudy, orangeish colour with a huge, long lasting off-white head. Mild fruitiness, well rounded, spicy taste. Bread, banana, cloves and smooth smokiness pairs very well with the low noble hop aroma. Lively carbonation and medium body. A very well balanced, easy drinkable, smoked wheat beer for the ages. Highly recommended brew, a must try.

500 ml bottle from Beervana. Thank you Naty, love of my life Pours a cloudy mahogany color with orange hues and a medium off-white head that diminishes slowly, leaving a thin lingering film. Aroma is really incredible. Amazing balance of smoked malts, wheat and yeasty smells. Smoke predominates slightly with notes of peat, bacon, smoked ham and burning firewood. The second layer gives classic German Hefewizen hints with some vanilla, banana and soft spices including ginger and coriander. This is not only interesting but also enticing. Taste is well-defined and rounded with a touch of mild fruitiness, low bitterness and an subtle smokey character. Banana cake, lively spices and smokey flavors pair very well together here. Not explosive assertive flavors, but awesome balance. Light to medium body, well carbonated, mild smokey aftertaste. Excellent. A highly refined Hefeweizen with nice amounts of smoke, high drinkability and superlative balance. Love it.

Bottle. Dark, cloudy copper with stable, low creamy head. Aroma of campfire smoke with a touch of smoked sheep cheese, powerful, later broken by a hint of overripe bananas. Taste smooth, almost oily, carbonation mid to low. Bitterness low, not important. Aftertaste mostly smoked, a touch of bananas. If you like smoked beer definitely worth trying.

Pours hazy yellow, solid white head. Aroma is smoky, other wiezen notes are covered by it. In taste similar, no clove or banana, mainly smokiness. So if you like smoked beer this is still very good beer, but for mix of weizen and smoke you need to keep looking.

Pours Orangey brown with a medium head. Aroma is of a peat bonfire. The taste is strange, it’s initially got the sweetness of a wheat beer with a peat smoked ending that still has a slight sweetness. I don’t hate it but not sure I’d have it again.
