4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a clear dark amber with an off-white, almost creamy head. The head quickly disappears. Very little carbonation.
The hops aroma with a bready malt sweetness.
A good roasty bitterness that is quite long lasting with quite a bit of hop flavour.
Medium, almost creamy mouthfeel. A good amount of carbonation on the tongue.
The aroma and flavors become a LOT better as the beer is warming up towards room temp.
Overall a very drinkable beer that I would happily consume in large quantities!
500ml Bottle Poured. Thanks Esme for bringing this gift for me!

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap at Nærbø Ølmesse and Cardinal. Rated at Cardinal 11.11.09 where it was served a bit too cold. Pours clear golden with an off white head that lasts. Toasted caramel malts on the nose (remember the aroma as more dry hopped at Nærbø). Moderately sweet and bitter in the mouth with an averagely lasting finish. Medium bodied with a syrupy texture and soft carbonation. Well balanced and a joy to drink! Ægir has had a lot of positive feedback on this one, and thankfully they’ve promised a bigger release of this excellent brew next autumn.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Alta. Strong aroma of both hops and malt. Colour is hazy and amber. The taste is bitter, but with some sweetness, some floral hops and yeast. Mouthfeel is quite thick, soft carbonation, bitter finish. This beer is very well balanced, very drinkable. Good work Ægir!

Great beer from Ægir - close to my favourite style of beer. Classic APA, but also some other notes under the surface.
