On tap at Patricks. It pours a hazy, golden-orange body and a finger-thick, white head that soon disappears. A bit grainy on the nose, with banana and some bubble gum. Low on cloves. A pleasant grassy hoppyness too. The flavor feels more balanced, but still a bit low on banana and cloves. Pleasant lemon touch, especially in the end. Medium sweetness, pleasant carbonation. Lasting finish where the cloves finally are allowed to play. A quite nice one, actually more quenching than tasteful, but it is far, far from bad, which my rating also indicates. 110420

On tap @ Patricks. Hazy yellow golden with a big, creamy white head. Aroma is banana, citrus fruit and cloves. Flavor is very refreshing and typical hefe-weissbier, not too sweet, high carbonation and good balance. The only thing I would put my finger on here, is a bit thin body. Close to perfection within the style.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy light golden with a big creamy white head. Good hefe aroma, banana and cloves. Taste is fresh wheat, some yeast and a solid dose of citrussy hops at the end. I like this one, fresh and easy drinkable.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger (disregarding that someone can’t spell Hefeweizen, nor Hefe-Weissbier). Hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Strong and typical h.w.-aroma of ripe bananas, citrus and cloves. High level of carbonation. Refreshing wheaty flavour, banana and cloves again, not very sweet. Noticeable hops in the finish. A decent hefeweizen!

Palme (3533) - Bergen, NORWAY - APR 4, 2011
Tap @ Naboen, Bergen. Pours a pale hazy body with a dense creamy white head. Nose is hay, citrus, grassy and green banana. Tastes quite spicy at first, grainy with a slightly watery finish and a grainy, lasting aftertaste with subtle hint of melon and yeast. Body is mild, nice and medium, and the carbonation is medium+. There is something about this I can’t quite set my finger on. Think it could be that slightly sour note getting me a bit off balance, but not in a bad way. Ends slightly dry and wheaty.

First one! Always a pleasure to add to our dear database. :-D On tap @ Naboen, Bergen. Hazy orange body, medium white head. Mild nose with clove, banana and hints of wheat and cereals, low on citrus. Mild is also the taste, which reminds me of a wheat ale or an English bitter brewed with hefeweizen yeast. Smooth and very easily drinkable, but I miss the noticeable citric, banana and crisp wheat tones often found in German weissbier. A nice and refreshing - but slightly boring - weizen that could have been made a bit bolder.
