Flaske 0.5 l. En fin bronsefarge. Til tider kan lukten virke litt sur, men den typiske spisse IPA-smaken kveler dette.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle bought at Vinmonopolet: Pours a reltively clear bronze color with a good head. The aroma is fairly strong and holds flowers and sweet tropical fruits . The taste is rather sweet and maybe not as dry as one might expect? Honey/caramel malty base. Light citrusy bitterness that does not linger in the mouth. The Ægir IPA has rather good and balanced mouthfeel and IMHO a very well crafted ale :)

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2013 Flaske kjøpt på polet ski storsenter. Ravfarget ugjennomsiktig, lett skum, en nydelig ipa med smak av mørk malt ,humle, og gress . Liker den veldig godt

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bought on tap in Oslo (Bar called Tilt). I was surprised to find that this blew the Nøgne Ø IPA out of the water when compared side by side. Maybe it was a sub-optimal batch of Nøgne Ø? Ægir really managed to balance this brew perfectly. A clear golden appearance with a crisp flavor of hops and malt. Easy to drink and delightful floral aroma. Great beer!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Stopped regular rating 22nd Oct 2012 so this is one of my occasional ratings. This bottle very kindly passed on by Rune & Finn, at Kernel Brewery November 2012. Cheers Rune & Finn. Consumed Saturday 15th December 2012 Hazy warm orange with a white head. There is a slightly balsamic citrus combination on the nose.Gentle and soft carbonation in mouth, the taste is clearly very citrus dominated with a Morroccan preserved lemon feel. It isn’t as clean or zappy as I was expecting and there is a loose bitterness that gives the beer a slightly unbalanced feel. I don’t dislike this but then I am not a huge fan either. However big thanks to Rune & Finn for this beer. Actually I gave this a 3.0 but to be fair I am liking this a little more now, 3.3. A6 A3 T7 P4 Ov13 3.3

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at Bien Bar, Bergen. The colour is slightly hazy amber, and with a small off-white head. Grassy and fruity aroma with apricot and tropical fruits. The flavour is nice containing notes of resin, conifer wood and grapefruit, and has a dry ending. Has a soft and slick mouthfeel, and a medium bitterness. A nice IPA with a good balance.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
In short: A clean, crisp, medium-dry piney IPA with annoying perfume-like scented notes. Just ok
How: Tap at brewpub in Flåm, Norway
The look: Clear golden body topped by a small off-white head
In long: Nose is scented piney hops, flowery undertones and some annoying perfume notes. Taste has a strong toastiness of plain bready cereals creating a melba toasts flavor. This is a very clean, toasted, crunchy and neutral backbone that doesn’t provide much flavors. The hops dominate the beer but it is mostly due to the dry neutral maltiness and not because the beer is super hoppy. This is not a hop bomb, this is a well balanced beer. Hops have a scented piney and flowery character that sometimes felt borderline like annoyingly perfume to me. I get this perfume sensation from many IPAs and it never seems to bother anybody else but me. All in all, I thought it was just an ok IPA, nothing that excited me in this beer and since I had it in the best possible condition (tap at the brewpub) I don’t think I will ever bother buying a bottle. Not a great IPA, yet drinking this pint at the in Flåm brewpub made me wish I could have 3 months vacation 4 times a year.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500 ml bottle. Not a top class beer from Ægir, but a nice aroma of red apples is great. Too heavy bitterness, but it fits a lamb & risotto meal nicely.

500 ml bottle. BB? (Vinmonopolet) Oslo, Norway. Stor takk til Timo!
Clear (w/o yeast) amber colour with big white head.
Candy like sweetness, fruit, mild resin and nice bitterness in aroma. Some malty sweetness too. Flavour is rather sweet. Malt and hoppy bitterness. Oily mouthfeel. Some alcohol in flavour too. Very smooth which ain’t necessarily only good thing. Lacks the sharpness.
